Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are atop the NFC, the team will likely be active in the market this offseason anyway, and trade chip Tank Bigsby might be the latest victim of being sent to a new team once again. Bleacher Report believes<\/a> the Bigsby could be on the move again despite being acquired out of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Originally selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Auburn product was looking to be the main contributor to the Jaguars’ ground game coming off a promising 2024 campaign. Unfortunately, the Jaguars ultimately had to decide between him and Travis Etienne at the time, so Bigsby was the oddball out.<\/p>\n

The Eagles “Most Valuable” Trade Chip Revealed as Tank Bigsby<\/h2>\n

While the Eagles were looking for running back help for Saquon Barkley, no one was expecting it to be Bigsby. However, he went on to be a reliable downhill runner while Barkley dealt with an injury in Week 8. The Eagles still have him under contract through the 2026 season, but Bigsby is more of a starter and could receive some trade interest. Philadelphia might not have much space in their running back depth chart due to an emerging Will Shipley<\/a>, which made the trade a bit of a head-scratcher firsthand. Luckily for the Eagles, the former Super Bowl champions could take advantage of Bigsby’s value and get the best draft capital in return since they know teams will be exploring him, and these three teams might just do that.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Los Angeles Chargers<\/h3>\n

The most logical destination for Bigsby would be the Los Angeles Chargers. Jim Harbaugh values the run game and has been able to keep the offense intact despite losing Najee Harris, Omarion Hampton and Hassan Haskins single-handedly. This meant that Kimani Vidal<\/a> had a huge role and while it wasn’t crystal perfect, quarterback Justin Herbert has been on fire despite coming off the brutal loss to Jacksonville. The Chargers are still in the playoff race, but they must address the running back situation in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Bigsby has the size, athleticism and abilities to be a Harbaugh guy. He could turn into a true 1-2 punch paired with Hampton once he’s 100% and the Chargers might have one of most biggest run games when it comes down to ramming the defensive line.<\/p>\n

2. New England Patriots<\/h3>\n

The future is bright for the Patriots once again for the first time since the Tom Brady era. Drake Maye is proving every week that he could become a long-term answer for New England, led by Mike Vrabel, who looked to have made all the right moves to position him for a deep playoff run. However, they could use some help in their ground game. With Antonio Gibson out<\/a> and given that he needs time to adjust, the team might part ways.<\/p>\n

This leaves rookie TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson as the primary starting running backs on the roster. Stevenson has been dealing with fumbling issues, while Henderson is looking like a bullet. Bigsby might be the man to replace Stevenson, especially since the Patriots have the dividends to spend.<\/p>\n

3. New Orleans Saints<\/h3>\n

The New Orleans Saints have one of the worst offensive rosters this year, led by head coach Kellen Moore, who is attempting the rebuild. After trading for DeVaughn Vele and claiming Trey Palmer, the team sent Rashid Shaheed to Seattle before the trade deadline, which means that the Saints are doing their rebuild early before the offseason. Alvin Kamara<\/a> doesn’t want to go anywhere, but it might not be up to him, as he’s getting too old.<\/p>\n

Nobody should put it past him if he changes his mind. With that, the Saints should attempt to trade for Bigsby to give them a fresh start on the ground.<\/p>\n
