Through 10 games, the fourth-year wideout has recorded 58 receptions for 908 yards and seven touchdowns while helping the Cowboys create one of the game’s most dangerous passing attacks.

Now playing in his contract year, George Pickens will receive a sizable raise in a few months, but it might not be from the Cowboys. Dallas benched the wide receiver for one drive in the team’s 33-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, which means the attitude problems that plagued him in Pittsburgh didn’t disappear in a new environment. If the Cowboys won’t pay him, somebody else will.

3 Teams That Could Sign George Pickens After Cowboys Benching

Assuming he leaves the Cowboys and reaches free agency, George Pickens will probably be the best wide receiver on the open market. While he comes with his fair share of off-field issues, his on-field abilities could make him a desired weapon for several organizations across the league. Some team will roll the dice on him, and the following three are the best potential fits.

Main Photo: Kirby Lee – Imagn Images

3. New York Jets

The Justin Fields experiment has been a disaster, as the team benched the former first-round pick for career journeyman Tyrod Taylor. This means the Jets will have yet another new face under center next year, and the organization must do something to ensure the next quarterback has a fair shot to succeed.

First-round pick Armand Membou has been everything the Jets could have hoped for, and the team has a good wide receiver in Garrett Wilson. However, the depth behind Wilson leaves a lot to be desired, and signing George Pickens from the Dallas Cowboys would give the team two reliable weapons for their next quarterback. Receivers alone don’t make a quarterback, but this duo should bring out the best in whoever starts next year.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (5) completes a pass which he ran in for a touchdown, Sunday, October 5, 2025.

2. Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have one of the most talented rosters in the league and, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t be able to afford a player like George Pickens. However, they’re currently projected to have $47.1 million in cap space next year, which means they could make a play for the Cowboys wideout.

As of this posting, former first-round pick Zay Flowers leads the team with 53 receptions for 703 yards. Nobody else on the team has more than 32 receptions for 276 receiving yards. This team desperately needs another legitimate starter, and George Pickens could be the ideal choice if the Cowboys don’t re-sign him. Nobody can deny his talent, and a stable organization like the Ravens should be able to handle his off-field issues.

1. Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans used the first-overall pick on quarterback Cam Ward, but they still have no idea if he can be a franchise quarterback. While his traditional box score numbers leave a lot to be desired, no rookie could succeed in this disastrous environment. The team already fired head coach Brian Callahan, the offensive line is one of the worst in the league, and the pass catchers are either untested depth pieces or past their prime veterans.

Maybe Cam Ward doesn’t have what it takes to succeed in the NFL, but the Titans will never know for sure until they give him the tools to succeed. George Pickens won’t fix this roster all by himself, but the Cowboys receiver won’t need to. The Titans are projected to have over $108 million in cap space, which is more than enough money to sign Pickens and invest in the offensive line.

Oct 26, 2025; Indianapolis, Indiana, USA; Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) hands the ball off to Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (20) during the first quarter during the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
