The Cleveland Browns are having another abysmal season this year, and the team could finally ship off trade candidate Myles Garrett during this upcoming offseason. Bleacher Report believes<\/a> the Browns are preventing Garrett from reaching his full potential, which is true, considering that it’s always been a rebuild mode for Cleveland ever since they decided to let Baker Mayfield walk in free agency a few offseasons ago. With that, the Browns should do one of the best defensive playmakers in the league a favor, and Cleveland needs to do it sooner to pull off a better deal. The team could get plenty of draft capital to build around rookie Shedeur Sanders<\/a> or Dillon Gabriel, depending on who wins the starting job.<\/p>\n

3 Teams That Could “Save” Top NFL Trade Candidate Myles Garrett After 2025 Season<\/h2>\n

Despite signing a new contract to stay in Cleveland, this doesn’t mean that Garrett still won’t explore the idea of a trade. It’s hard to imagine that he continues to put on an illustrious career while still wasting his talents in Cleveland. Originally selected as a first-round pick, the former Texas A&M product could revisit the possibility of a trade, which is something he wanted last offseason. The Browns can’t keep him forever, and they will need to figure out how to move him to avoid any locker room distractions if he decides to hold out.<\/p>\n

1. Dallas Cowboys<\/h3>\n

The 2025 trade deadline showed that Jerry Jones is not afraid of being aggressive. While they signed defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. to a one-year contract, they still need a reliable edge rusher to fill the gap. The Cowboys lost their soul since trading away Micah Parsons, but they’re slowly coming back with Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams<\/a> as the new kids on the block. Dallas will need to extend Williams if he impresses, so this means that Kenny Clark could go on the back burner due to his contract. Osa Odighizuwa isn’t going anywhere since they extended him to a long-term deal.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, the Cowboys should go all in for Garrett. They attempted to get defensive end Trey Hendrickson, but they put all of their focus on improving the middle. If Garrett joins Dallas, then they may have one of the scariest defensive lines come 2026.<\/p>\n

2. New England Patriots<\/h3>\n

Speaking of scary defenses, the New England Patriots find themselves to be a worthy contender for the first time since the Tom Brady era. While Drake Maye is in the MVP conversation<\/a>, nobody should forget how the defensive line has been able to hold its own end of the bargain. With the Patriots projected to splurge this upcoming offseason, it shouldn’t be a surprise if you see Garrett in New England paired with Milton Williams in 2026.<\/p>\n

3. Philadelphia Eagles<\/h3>\n

Jerry Jones might be aggressive at times, but it’s nothing compared to the front office in Philadelphia. The team was willing to send three first-round picks for Garrett, but settled for linebacker Jaelan Phillips<\/a> before the trade deadline. It has paid dividends for the Eagles’ defense, but it’s been a shaky season on offense in that regard. However, expect this team again to call up Garrett for a potential trade and bring him in to pursue a potential Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
