After spending two seasons away from the league, veteran free agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill isn’t closing the door for a comeback. Unfortunately, it looks like it might not be the case anymore, as the 37-year-old spoke with reporter, D.J. Siddiqi<\/a>, and said he believes he’s done playing football. The veteran has been waiting patiently and fielding interest from several teams, but no one has made an offer. While it looks like Tannehill will call it a career, there’s still a good chance he can wipe off the rust and return for at least one more season to lead an offense in the right direction.<\/p>\n

3 Teams Who Could Fuse NFL Ryan Tannehill Possible Comeback<\/h2>\n

Tannehill was open to the idea of returning last season, but there wasn’t a fit for him. The veteran is still in shape and has experience that can drive a team, but it will be up to teams if they want to bring him in for at least an opportunity. Originally selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the former Miami Dolphin had a prolific career. After recording 34,881 passing yards, 216 touchdowns, and becoming the Comeback Player of the Year in 2019, Tannehill is still an adequate quarterback, and these three teams should be keeping an eye on him.<\/p>\n

It’ll be a waiting game again, but there should be some glimmer of hope for the veteran, as there is always room for improvement for these three teams.<\/p>\n

1. Tennessee Titans<\/h3>\n

The Titans aren’t postseason contenders this year, but Tannehill had positive things to say about rookie Cam Ward<\/a>. Tennessee needs all the help it can get to put Ward in the best spot possible. This is what Tannehill explained as he hopes that the team can get better pieces for him. With that in mind, the Titans should consider the idea of bringing Tannehill back at least for backup duties. Tannehill would prefer to start, but his presence should be vital for someone like Ward, and the veteran won’t turn down that opportunity and officially call it a career.<\/p>\n

2. Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n

Even though quarterback Bryce Young<\/a> has shown signs of life and that’s why the Carolina Panthers are 5-5, but the reality is that they might find another franchiser this upcoming draft next year. The Panthers have a powerful run game led by Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard as well as a defense that is slowly improving. If things turn left again next season, the Panthers should consider the idea of signing Tannehill to a two-year deal.<\/p>\n

Tannehill won’t be the same, but they way how Joe Flacco is performing at over 40-years-old<\/a>, it should motivate the Panthers to least take a chance on him and bring some competition for Young.<\/p>\n

3. Las Vegas Raiders<\/h3>\n

At 2-7, quarterback Geno Smith<\/a> is far from being the answer for the Las Vegas Raiders. After trading away Jakobi Meyers before the deadline, the Raiders are miles away from being a playoff team. Pete Carroll is one of the most talented coaches of this generation, he just needs a better team and leader. Tannehill is old, but he could lead this roster in the right direction for at least two years until they draft a quarterback.<\/p>\n
