The Washington Commanders’ 2025 campaign of a hopeful playoff bid is likely coming to an end in their latest loss to the Lions, but veteran Von Miller wants to play in 2026. According to a report<\/a>, Miller prefers to stay in Washington since he likes the organization that they’ve been able to build despite losing Jayden Daniels to a gruesome injury, but it won’t be up to him to decide on his future. However, Miller will play next season in some capacity, but it might not be with the Commanders, as the team might be better off drafting a linebacker.<\/p>\n

Former Broncos Legend Von Miller Aiming to Play in 2026 – 4 Possible Next Teams<\/h2>\n

With Miller set to become a free agent in March, veteran Bobby Wagner<\/a> could be following him to play elsewhere, but the two might not be together after the 2025 season is over. The future Hall of Famer still has at least two years in the tank as the former Denver Bronco will likely want to join a contender. Miller will not join a rebuild team, which is where the Commanders are at despite the team making their mark in the NFC Championship Game in January. The veteran should be able to garner interest from these four other teams at the right price if the Commanders don’t bring him back.<\/p>\n

1. Dallas Cowboys<\/h3>\n

The idea of Miller playing for his hometown team would make sense since the Dallas Cowboys are slowly building back their defense after the Micah Parsons trade.<\/a> However, they acquired Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams, so no matter what, they’re working towards an exceptional future in 2026. The Cowboys will make a huge run this season, but it won’t be a Super Bowl. Miller joining the linebacker group that already contains Wilson, Marist Liufau, Kenneth Murray Jr. and Shemar James could be a good thing.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys still have one of the hottest offenses in the league, and the defense is close to becoming exceptional as well, but they’re still missing a few pieces, and Miller could fill the temporary void.<\/p>\n

2. Baltimore Ravens<\/h3>\n

While the Baltimore Ravens made a huge comeback this season after starting 1-5, the team will likely be one-and-done in the playoffs if they make it. With Kyle Van Noy and David Ojabo set to enter the free agent market, the Ravens would benefit from signing Miller if they don’t re-sign them both. Odafe Oweh is already gone, but the good news is that the trade for Dre’Mont Jones<\/a> gives them some stability. The Ravens should be suitors again next season as long as Lamar Jackson can stay healthy, and Miller might join a good thing in Baltimore.<\/p>\n

3. Kansas City Chiefs<\/h3>\n

If Miller were to join the Chiefs, it would be a slap to the face of Broncos and Bills fans. However, it wouldn’t matter to Miller if it meant playing for another Super Bowl contention. The Chiefs are having one of their worst seasons, and while most of the blame can be put on the absence of Rashee Rice, the defense should’ve stepped up for the moment. Nick Bolton<\/a> is the Chiefs’ best linebacker, but Drue Tranquill and Leo Chenal need help.<\/p>\n

Miller could join in a situational role as a backup, as a veteran presence if the Chiefs are unsuccessful again this upcoming postseason, if they even make it.<\/p>\n
