While most of the attention has been on quarterback Kyler Murray<\/a>, the Arizona Cardinals picked up another brutal loss while possibly losing Zay Jones to a potential season-ending injury. According to the breaking news<\/a>, Jones left the game in a cart due to a gut-wrenching Achilles tear, which likely ends his season for already a season that has been a rollercoaster for the Cardinals. Even though they took an upsetting win over Dallas last week, the Cardinals could follow up with another win as the Seahawks were too dominant all game long. However, it feels like Jones might’ve played his last game as a Cardinal, as he will be entering his final year of his contract next season.<\/p>\n

Breaking: Latest Cardinals Zay Jones Injury Could Signal Future Trade<\/h2>\n

Originally selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former East Carolina product will probably get traded at some point. The Cardinals don’t have a legitimate offense or quarterback to lead the team to a postseason anytime soon, since letting Murray sit out basically for the rest of the season. The team will likely draft a quarterback in the first round, but it shouldn’t be surprising if they find a new wide receiver. Arizona may have to trade Jones, while Marvin Harrison Jr. and tight end Trey McBride have been the best playmakers regardless of the circumstances, so here are three teams that could acquire Jones only if he becomes a free agent this upcoming offseason.<\/p>\n

1. Jacksonville Jaguars<\/h3>\n

After trying to field trade calls for wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a>, the team will likely sign or trade for another wide receiver in the offseason. The Jaguars lost to the Texans in their latest matchup, which resulted in a heartbreaker, so the team may have to be forced to tank as they don’t have the roster intact just yet for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. With rookie Travis Hunter on IR and still developing, the Jaguars’ signing Jones on a low-stakes deal would make sense.<\/p>\n

They don’t need to make a huge commitment, but after trading Christian Kirk last offseason, the Jaguars might play it safe and get Jones under a one-year contract.<\/p>\n

2. Washington Commanders<\/h3>\n

With their latest crushing loss against the Lions, the 2025 campaign for the Washington Commanders is officially over. While they’re not mathematically out, it’s hard to imagine this team will come back from a 3-7 record to a wild-card spot. The team lost wide receiver Luke McCaffrey and cornerback Marshon Lattimore to season-ending injuries single-handedly, but they need wideout help. Given how Terry McLaurin hasn’t been able to put on a strong performance this year, the Commanders should sign a receiver in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Jones isn’t the most gifted player, but his presence could be viable if the Commanders can sign Deebo Samuel<\/a> again to a new deal for McCaffrey’s return to the team.<\/p>\n

3. Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n

The Carolina Panthers are surprising a lot of people within the league, but the loss to the Saints feels like the team isn’t serious about bidding their ticket for a wild-card spot. However, quarterback Bryce Young will need new weapons. After trading veteran Adam Thielen, the Panthers must find someone to replace Hunter Renfrow, who will likely retire again, and Jones could be a solid slot option to help Xavier Legette<\/a> and Jalen Coker in the long term for this offense.<\/p>\n
