Namely, Patrick Mahomes, who we had projected as our #2 QB, finished at QB22 after a rough day in Buffalo that saw him complete less than 50% of his pass attempts. Meanwhile, veterans like Joe Flacco, Matthew Stafford, Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, and even Jacoby Brissett had stellar games, all finishing inside the top 10 scorers for the week.

This week, we won’t make the mistake of over-ranking Mahomes or overlooking Flacco, since both will be watching this weekend’s games from home just like the rest of us. Joining the Bengals and Chiefs on bye are the Titans and Cowboys, so we will also have to get through this week without Dak Prescott (and Cam Ward, if you play in a league that forces you to play bad quarterbacks). We will also have to get through this week without the benefit of either the Cowboys or Bengals defenses to pick on, so we will have to rank these quarterbacks based on actual talent rather than just hitching our wagons to the guys playing Dallas and Cincy.

Without those two teams, as well as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, we notice a dearth of options when it comes to identifying high-scoring games. Add in the fact that as the temperature begins to drop around the country, the game scores will tend to follow suit, and we’re left with only one game projected to eclipse 50 total points on the Week 10 slate. Conversely, there are three matchups that Vegas projects for under 40 total points scored, which notably includes the Jaguars and Texans game, which will likely be played without C.J. Stroud, who suffered a concussion in Week 9. When you also factor in the loss of Jaydin Daniels to a season-ending injury, we start to see the quarterback landscape for week 10 as a potential minefield where finding the safest option to play could seem like a daunting task. Let’s take a look at the Week 10 quarterback rankings and see who our best options are after the top three obvious choices.

Top 10 Week 10 Quarterback Rankings

1) Josh Allen vs. Dolphins

If you drafted Allen, you pulled the trigger early on your QB while many of your league mates were playing the waiting game for late-round gems. After 9 weeks, your decision looks like the right move, because while Allen isn’t the top scorer overall in fantasy, he does sit at #4 and has been in the top 12 in pretty much every single week this season. That’s why you drafted him where you did. It was the equivalent of buying a blue-chip stock while the other guys were all trying to get rich quickly with more volatile options like Kyler Murray and Justin Fields. It’s for that reason that I am keeping him here every single week while he’s healthy. He finished last week as the QB3 thanks to a pair of rushing touchdowns on top of 273 passing yards and an additional score through the air. He’s been a weekly lock for 20+ points, and this week he will take on a Dolphins team in Miami that won’t be able to stop him. In their previous matchup this season, Allen breezed his way to 23 fantasy points. This game sits as the only game on the slate with a projected point total over 50, and the Bills have the highest implied projected point total in the league at 30. The only thing that will keep Allen from scoring over 20 fantasy points again is if James Cook does all of the Buffalo scoring from outside of the red zone. If you have Allen, you don’t need me to tell you to play him.

2) Lamar Jackson vs. Vikings

We welcomed Lamar back last week after a three-game absence, and he slid right back into our rankings without missing a beat. I did hold him down a bit, ranking him as my 4th best option for Week 9, but he came through for his owners with 25.56 fantasy points, finishing at QB9 overall. That was good enough for me; he’s back up where he belongs in the top 2. We didn’t see much in the lines of the running game from Jackson last week, which is fine as long as he is throwing four touchdowns every game. This week, he and the Ravens will travel to Minnesota to take on a Vikings defense ranked 8th overall vs the pass. Brian Flores will be scheming up ways to contain Lamar and Derrick Henry, so we can expect a lot of blitzing to try and stop the run as well as contain Jackson. That may work for some of the game, but it will also open up plays downfield, so I expect Jackson to hit a big play or two to Tez Walker, Rashad Bateman, or even Isaiah Likely. The bottom line is, Lamar is just too good to ever sniff your bench; get him in your lineup.

3) Jalen Hurts vs. Packers

Yes, the holy trinity of QBs is complete now with Jalen Hurts sitting at #3. This is the order (for the most part) in which we drafted them, so it’s nice to see them sitting as our top three options in Week 10. After taking last week off with his team’s bye, Hurts will get to take on Green Bay in this week’s Monday Night game. The Packer defense is one of the better units in the league, and Micah Parsons will be a factor in limiting some of what Hurts and the Eagles want to do. This game should be a close one, and the Eagles are going to need Hurts to be a factor with his arm as well as his legs. There’s a chance that Saquon Barkley may be limited as he works his way back from a groin injury that forced him to leave their Week 8 game against the Giants. Look for Hurts to get the ball out of his hands quickly to Devonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dallas Goedert, and to take off and run when needed. He’s due to get back into the endzone as well, as he’s scored just 1 rushing touchdown over the Eagles’ last five games after scoring in each of their first 3 games.

4) Justin Herbert vs. Steelers

Herbert finished last week as the 4th highest scorer at the QB position, thanks again to his newfound rushing prowess. He added another 57 yards rushing and his first rushing score of 2025 to bring his season total to 305 yards, which is exactly 1 yard short of his career best 306 that he set last year in a full 17-game season. On top of his new “scramblin’ man” success, he’s also throwing the ball as well as he ever has. His 67.7% completion rate and his 66.9 total QBR are both the second-highest of his career, while his 7.93 sack rate is the highest of his career. To sum it up, his line is not protecting him, which is forcing him to run, but it isn’t affecting his success rate as a passer. When all is said and done, he should be on the short list for MVP candidates as he has been the lone constant on this Charger team that sits at 6-3, just a game behind Denver for the division lead. This week, he gets a Steelers defense that is ranked at the bottom of the league against the pass. While they stepped up last week with 6 forced turnovers against Daniel Jones and the Colts, they still allowed 342 passing yards. The Buccaneers are a pass-funnel team that should force Maye to keep the ball in the air for most of this matchup. I guess it’s his age and the rumors about his wonky back during preseason practices, but I’ve just been waiting all year for him to fall apart, and he just keeps plugging away. He hasn’t been spectacular, but he’s had some big games and sits as the #9 QB overall in fantasy for the year. To think he sits at #9 and I haven’t had him in my top 10 list once, makes me wonder what I have been missing.

The answer has more to do with how he’s been scoring his points rather than how many points he’s scored. When we rank the top ten, we are looking for the safest options for the most important position on your fantasy team. When Stafford hits, he hits big with 26+ fantasy points in 4 of his 8 games. When he misses, he leaves us wanting a bit with less than 15 points in 3 of the remaining 4 games. Feast or famine players at WR are a little easier to deal with than guys like Stafford or (gulp) Justin Fields, who can single-handedly win you a week but also lose it just as easily.

For more help with your fantasy football rosters, make sure to check out the best streaming options in Week 10.

This week, Stafford and the Rams will look for a measure of revenge against a San Francisco team that shocked them earlier in the season on a Thursday Night game. In that game, Stafford scored 28.56 points thanks to 389 passing yards and 3 scores. I’m not sure we can expect those lofty numbers again as those were scored while chasing Mac Jones and the 49ers in the second half, but I do expect this to be a competitive game. He has his full complement of weapons, so it’s wheels up for Stafford this week if you have him.

7) Jared Goff vs. Commanders

Normally, if a team is a heavy favorite, I don’t love playing their classic drop-back passing QB in a game that could potentially end up as a blowout. This game does qualify, since I don’t know if Marcus Mariota will be able to lead this Washington offense on enough scoring drives to turn this game into a shootout. That being said, the Lions are coming off an embarrassing loss at home against the Vikings, and I just love playing any of Dan Campbell’s players in games like this. After their Week 1 loss to Green Bay, Detroit came back and trounced the Bears behind five passing touchdowns from Goff. While he didn’t light up the Bucs like I was expecting after their loss to Kansas City, I feel like this Washington team will provide the perfect punching bag for Campbell and the Lions to work out their frustrations on. The Commanders rank 29th in the league against the pass, and I expect at least 3 scores from Jared Goff and his pass catchers.

8) Jaxson Dart vs. Bears

The Giants offense has completely fallen apart, leaving young Jaxson Dart on an island as he tries to navigate his team through the rest of 2025. The trade deadline came and went without New York adding any of the rumored available receiving options, so it will be up to Wandale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Theo Johnson to step up and be Big Blue’s top pass catchers. The problem is that, other than Robinson, the other guys can’t catch.

Theo is a big, bruising tight end, and he’s tough to tackle when he does manage to hold onto the ball, as we saw on his touchdown catch and run last weekend. We also saw Slayton drop an easy touchdown while the other options, like Gunnar Olszewski and Ray-Ray McLoud, showed us why they are better suited for special teams work, as they struggled to get open. Through it all, Dart is putting up fantasy points thanks to his legs and sheer will. He topped 27 fantasy points for the second time this season in the Giants’ Week 9 loss at home to San Francisco. This team will be playing from behind every week, and Dart is going to keep slinging it and running for his life as long as he’s physically able to. His performance in Week 9 earned him the #6 spot overall for the week at QB, and he should remain a top 12 option every week from here out. The Bear defense is just terrible, and if there is a game on the Giants’ remaining schedule that they could possibly win, this one may be it. Either way, play Dart if you have him and don’t have one of the previously mentioned options.

9) Bo Nix vs. Raiders

Oct 19, 2025; Denver, Colorado, USA; Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix (10) reacts after a play against the New York Giants during the second half at Empower Field at Mile High. Mandatory Credit: Isaiah J. Downing-Imagn Images

If only NFL games were seven quarters long, then Bo Nix would easily be the #1 overall QB. It seems every week, it takes him about three quarters of doing nothing before he wakes up and leads the Broncos offense to the end zone. This past week was no different as we saw Denver sputter along for three quarters of football in Houston, entering the 4th quarter down 15-7. Nix woke up and found R.J. Harvey for a touchdown and Troy Franklin for the ensuing 2-point conversion to tie the game. He then led the Broncos on a last-minute drive for the game-winning field goal, ending the game with 19.52 fantasy points, which put him as the QB15 for the week. Not great, but not bad either, as he finished ahead of guys like Drake Maye, Daniel Jones, and Patrick Mahomes. The Raiders pose much less of a threat to his success than the Texans defense, ranking 21st in the league against the pass. Nix should lead the Broncos on enough scoring drives to win this game, and his rushing ability gives him a nice floor to keep him as a top ten option for fantasy in week 10.

10) Daniel Jones vs. Falcons

This isn’t a great matchup as the Falcons rank #1 in the league against the pass. That being said, Jones has been matchup-proof this season, scoring 20 or more fantasy points in five of his eight starts, including in each of his last four. This past week, he managed to score over 20 points despite turning the ball over five times. He may not throw for 300+ yards, but he’s not going to throw three picks and fumble twice again either. Drake Maye just threw for 259 yards last week against Atlanta, and that feels like a decent number to project for Jones in this game as well. He just has too many weapons at his disposal, and I expect Tyler Warren, along with Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs, to all contribute to Danny Dimes’ stats this weekend.

For more great fantasy football analysis, check out DrRoto.com!

Last week’s quarterback rankings were a bit topsy-turvy as half of our projected top 10 quarterbacks finished outside of the top 15 for the week.
