Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers requested a trade before the season, and the team could grant his request in the next 24 hours. Following their last-second loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>, the Raiders are 2-6 and don’t stand any sort of realistic shot at the playoffs. Star tight end Brock Bowers is back, but it’s too late for him to save this team’s season.<\/p>\n

Top 5 Jakobi Meyers Trade Destinations, Ranked<\/h2>\n

Jakobi Meyers is no superstar, and he’s not even the player he was when he first signed his three-year, $33 million contract with the Raiders in the 2023 offseason. However, he’s still a reliable starter who would likely produce in a better environment. While the Raiders may not get the largest return for his services, the following five teams could trade for Jakobi Meyers.<\/p>\n

5. Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n

Don’t look now, but the Carolina Panthers are 5-4 and just took down a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the Green Bay Packers<\/a>. This team might not be destined to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, but they should have every interest in making a playoff push. While nobody’s saying they should mortgage the future for a short-term run, they could consider a trade for a low-cost target like Jakobi Meyers.<\/p>\n

Carolina’s offense is loaded with exciting young playmakers in Tetairoa McMillan<\/a>, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker. What they lack, however, is a proven veteran to mentor all this young talent. Meyers is a perfect fit for this role, both on and off the field. Quarterback Bryce Young needs to keep improving, and Meyers could help him make the next step as the team improves around him.<\/p>\n

4. Seattle Seahawks<\/h3>\n

The Sam Darnold signing looks like one of the best in football, as the former New York Jets quarterback has the team sitting pretty with a 6-2 record. Darnold and first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba<\/a> have set the world on fire, but they could use more depth in the passing attack.<\/p>\n

With Cooper Kupp sidelined with a hamstring injury, Seattle turned to fifth-round pick Tory Horton<\/a> against the Washington Commanders. The rookie was up for the task, hauling in four receptions for 48 yards and two touchdowns, but a contender like Seattle shouldn’t put too much faith in an untested Day 3 pick. A Jakobi Meyers trade would ensure Seattle has at least one healthy veteran to complement Smith-Njigba at all times.<\/p>\n

3. New England Patriots<\/h3>\n

The New England Patriots have a great offense, and while Drake Maye wasn’t perfect against the elite Atlanta Falcons defense, he still had a decent day at the office. However, the quarterback is taking too many sacks, and the team must do something to eliminate the negative plays. Maye holds onto the ball too much, but that’s largely because the team doesn’t have anyone who can consistently beat man coverage, especially if Kayshon Boutte’s hamstring injury<\/a> is serious.<\/p>\n

A Jakobi Meyers trade could fix that. While the former undrafted free agent isn’t a big-play threat, he can be the effective chain-mover this team needs. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels knows how to use his skill set, so it shouldn’t take long for him to re-acclimate himself in New England.<\/p>\n

2. Pittsburgh Steelers<\/h3>\n

The Pittsburgh Steelers are back and, for the first time in forever, their offense actually looks dangerous. Aaron Rodgers is not playing at his previous MVP level, but he’s the best quarterback the Steelers have had since the Ben Roethlisberger days<\/a>. The offense is good, but they could use another weapon to take it to the next level.<\/p>\n

D.K. Metcalf can stretch the field with the best of them, and a Jakobi Meyers trade could give the Steelers to short and intermediate threat this team desperately needs. Pittsburgh has been searching for another wide receiver for months now, and Meyers might be the best option for the organization at this point in time.<\/p>\n

1. Buffalo Bills<\/h3>\n

Josh Allen is a superhero, and the current MVP frontunner<\/a> is leading one of the league’s best offenses despite not having much of a supporting cast. Khalil Shakir is a fine slot option, but second-year Keon Coleman<\/a> isn’t living up to his draft capital, and tight end Dalton Kincaid is better in a supporting role. While the Bills don’t have the opportunity to get a star wide receiver, they could trade for another reliable set of hands in Jakobi Meyers.<\/p>\n

At 6-2, the Bills are in a heated race with the 7-2 New England Patriots for divisional supremacy. This could come down to the December 14th matchup in Foxboro, and the Bills must do everything they can to win that rematch. Buffalo narrowly lost last time, and Meyers might be enough to push them over the edge in their next contest.<\/p>\n
