Originally entering the league with the Dallas Cowboys, Pollard spent the past two seasons as the Titans primary starter. Starting and appearing in 24 games for Tennessee, Pollard has recorded 1,503 yards and seven touchdowns on 369 carries behind a poor offensive line and with no support from the passing game.

4 Teams That Could Trade For Titans RB Tony Pollard

Nobody is confusing Tony Pollard with Barry Sanders, but the veteran is a solid starter in a league where running backs are dropping like flies. The Titans have an exciting young running back in Tyjae Spears, and trading Pollard could allow the team to see how the former third-round pick could perform with a full body of work while also clearing Pollard’s contract from their books. Don’t be surprised if the Titans trade Tony Pollard to one of the following four teams.

Main Photo: Robert Goddin – Imagn Images

4. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have abandoned their run-heavy philosophy in 2025, but they still need talented running backs to reach their ceiling. The team entered the season with veteran Najee Harris complemented by first-round pick Omarion Hampton, but both players are currently on the injured reserve. While Hampton will return before long, Harris tore his Achilles and is done for the season.

On paper, the Chargers could benefit from a Tony Pollard trade. The question is how much they’re willing to give up. Kimani Vidal has done a remarkable job in relief of Harris and Hampton and should continue to see carries when Hampton returns to the field. If Pollard costs anything more than a late-round pick swap, the Chargers might prefer to move forward with the talent already present on the roster.

Main Photo: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

3. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are 3-5, but that shouldn’t stop them from trying to trade for Tony Pollard. While the team has battled injuries at key positions throughout the season, they have the talent to compete when healthy. Jayden Daniels is still a great quarterback, Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin are a great duo, and while the defense needs some help, they could do with a cheap upgrade at the running back position.

Despite being one of the biggest winners of the offseason, seventh-round pick Jacory Croskey-Merritt has not done much to inspire confidence over the past few weeks. Perhaps the rookie seventh-round pick can turn it around, but the Commanders would benefit from a Tony Pollard trade. Adding a proven back could do wonders for this offense, and seeing as he shouldn’t cost much on the trade market, getting him is the perfect low-risk, medium-reward move a 3-5 team should make.

Sep 11, 2025; Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA; Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (22) runs against Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker (7) in the third quarter at Lambeau Field. Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson wants to run the football, and D’Andre Swift has done a solid job with the starting role in 2025. However, that shouldn’t stop the Bears for looking for an upgrade, or at the very least, someone who can complement him in the backfield. Caleb Williams has improved from his rookie season, but he’s still not playing up to his potential. Chicago may embrace the ground game, and they could do that via a Tony Pollard trade.

Given their 4-3 record, the Bears have every reason to believe they can make a deep playoff run in 2025. While Williams will determine their ultimate ceiling, Pollard can help take the pressure off the second-year quarterback as the team chases an elusive postseason birth.

Sep 14, 2025; Detroit, Michigan, USA; Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams (18) passes the ball against the Detroit Lions during the first quarter of the game at Ford Field. Kansas City Chiefs

After a slow start to the season, it’s safe to say the Kansas City Chiefs are back. Patrick Mahomes is playing his best football since 2022, Rashee Rice looks like his old self, and the defense is stopping opposing offenses. Andy Reid’s squad is firing on all cylinders, but there’s always room for improvement. While most of the roster is stacked, the running back room could use some work.

Isiah Pacheco is a fine starter when healthy, but you can do a lot better. Pacheco is week-to-week with a MCL injury, and with Kareem Hunt showing his age and Brashard Smith not doing much of anything, the Chiefs should consider a Tony Pollard trade. Pollard would easily be the best running back in this offense and has the ability to make plays as both a runner and a receiver. While he probably wouldn’t be an unquestioned workhorse, he would upgrade the team’s biggest weakness.

Aug 22, 2025; Kansas City, Missouri, USA; Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (10) celebrates with wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (9) against the Chicago Bears after a run during the first half of the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
