<\/p>\nWe are on to Week 8, and I think we have some great plays to choose from. We are waiting on some injuries, so be sure to check out my DFS Plays that come out on Saturdays here at DrRoto.com. Also, check us out live on X and YouTube at approximately 9:15 p.m. Saturday as Danger, Justin, and I go over Justin\u2019s DFS cheat sheet on the \u201cAny Given Entry\u201d podcast. We look at plays for small single-entry tournaments and build a lineup. If you missed last week, the lineup we built scored 212 points, bringing back 20-30 x, depending on the tournament you played. Here is my brief breakdown of this week’s games.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
QB Tua Tagovailoa was benched because he was dismal last week. He will have a short leash this week and face an uphill climb vs. a solid Falcons<\/a> defense. The only player worth mentioning is RB De\u2019Von Achane, who is often matchup-proof and can easily rack up 20-plus points. I think there are better running backs to choose from, but I always keep him in mind, especially after the Falcons gave up many points to Christian McCaffrey last week. WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Darrin Waller are priced right, but this isn\u2019t the matchup to play them in.<\/p>\n The Falcons boast my favorite player on the slate, and to no surprise, that is RB Bijan Robinson. He should plow over the Dolphins’ terrible run defense and has a floor of 20 points with a 30-point upside. It\u2019s such a smash spot for the running game, so don\u2019t be surprised if there is some meat on the bone for RB Tyler Allgeier. Could both backs rush for over 100 yards and a touchdown? It would be leverage if they were both in your lineup. As for the passing game? I like their players, but I don\u2019t trust them because they should run the ball with ease. I would play TE Kyle Pitts over WR Drake London because of the price, and I don\u2019t think he will need a huge number of points this week at the tight end position to keep up with the top scorers.<\/p>\n The Bears<\/a> have been winning football games, but it\u2019s been with their defense and running game. RB D\u2019Andre Swift has been outstanding and is coming off two sensational games. I think the Bears will need to get a lot more from their passing game to beat the Ravens<\/a>, who are getting healthier. I was on QB Caleb Williams and WR Rome Odunze to start the week, but I think I will pass on them. I feel that the Ravens’ defense will be much improved after the bye week with the return of players. Look for a heavy pass rush and for the Bears to struggle. I could be totally wrong, and maybe they are good plays, but I think we can find better matchups.<\/p>\n I think the Ravens come out on fire after their bye week. QB Lamar Jackson is in play, and he\u2019s one player who can really bust a slate open. He\u2019s priced fairly well compared to what he could be priced at. RB Derrick Henry is in a prime spot and could rush for over 100 yards. I can\u2019t remember when he was priced at 6K or less. WR Zay Flowers is my favorite receiver on the slate. He should have a minimum of 6 catches with 10-catch upside. He will make the winning lineups with a TD. TE Mark Andrews is fine and can never be counted out. TE Isaiah Likely is dirt cheap and is worth rostering in several lineups as he can easily break the slate.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Jets<\/a> still haven\u2019t named a starter at quarterback, but I have a feeling it\u2019s going to be Tyrod Taylor over Justin Fields. If Taylor plays, I am interested in him and TE Mason Taylor. In fact, Mason Taylor becomes a huge play and would dominate my lineups. If Fields plays, I may play Fields in a few lineups without his receiving weapons. I think the Bengals<\/a>‘ defense is bad enough that we have to find at least one Jet player. Maybe that player is RB Breece Hall. Hall has underperformed, but the matchup is juicy, and he could easily have over 100 yards and a touchdown. WR Garrett Wilson will see bracket coverage if he plays, so I will avoid him. Cincinnati has been good at limiting the opposing number-one receiver.<\/p>\n *** Mason Taylor missed Thursday\u2019s practice, and there is a chance he will miss this week. If he is out, the Bengals’ defense becomes very interesting at their cheap price.***<\/p>\n RB Chase Brown got it going last week, and I think it continues this week against the Jets. He\u2019s priced under $5,500 and could be a solid contributor, especially if he scores a touchdown. Jets CB Sauce Gardner is in concussion protocol, and if he\u2019s out, WR Ja\u2019Marr Chase becomes a huge play because we know that QB Joe Flacco will target him over and over again. WR Tee Higgins is also a solid player, but I don\u2019t think his upside is going to be huge enough to win a tournament. TE Noah Fant could be solid, but I don\u2019t know if he can do enough to get in the winning lineups either.<\/p>\n I am avoiding the Bills<\/a>, and that scares me. QB Josh Allen can light up a scoreboard versus anybody, but playing him is tough against the Panthers<\/a>, who play solid defense. Is this the game in which the Panthers’ defense collapses? I\u2019m passing on RB James Cook, but I do have some interest in WR Khalil Shakir and TE Dalton Kincaid. Either player could have several catches and will be unowned. They would have a solid chance to make the winning lineups if they score at their price and ownership.<\/p>\n QB Bryce Young is out, and in comes Andy Dalton. I\u2019m going to pass on the passing game, but we have to look at the running game. The Bills are a sieve against the run, and I actually prefer RB Rico Dowdle over RB Chuba Hubbard. I could see them both doing well, but Dowdle looks like the better runner now. If you decide to play them, you should look at FanDuel over DraftKings, as they are much better bargains on that platform.<\/p>\n QB Mac Jones is expected to be the starter, with Brock Purdy missing another week. I don\u2019t trust any of the 49ers<\/a>‘ receivers, but I do like RB Christian McCaffrey. He is a lock for 20-plus points because of his catching ability, but I won\u2019t have him in many of my lineups. I like Taylor and Robinson better. TE George Kittle is a wild card. The Texans are good against the tight end, but Kittle is a fantastic talent who can break slates no matter the opponent.<\/p>\n The Houston Texans<\/a> offense is a mess right now. The offensive line is horrible, which is crushing QB CJ Stroud’s confidence. Their best weapon, WR Nico Collins, is not practicing due to a concussion, and I doubt he plays. Maybe his absence can lead to another game of solid production from TE Dalton Schultz.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Browns<\/a> are a complete pass for me. RB Quinson Judkins’s price has jumped up a bit, and this isn\u2019t a great matchup. Until he proves he is matchup-proof, he is a week-to-week DFS play. The passing game is really non-existent, and we are back to a wash at tight end with David Njoku back.<\/p>\n QB Drake Maye is always in play. The average is 22.5 points per game, but this is a tough matchup against the Browns. His advantage is that he is probably going to have to pass the football because I think the Browns will shut down the run game. Look for receivers Kayshon Boutte and Stefon Diggs to be solid, but I don\u2019t think they\u2019ll put up the big numbers to get in the winning lineups.<\/p>\n I know there is mania about QB Jaxon Dart and RB Cam Skattebo right now, but I\u2019m passing on the Giants<\/a>. I think that they will struggle against an Eagles<\/a> team out for revenge with defensive lineman Jalen Carter back.<\/p>\n I am also passing on the Eagles. The running game hasn\u2019t been good, and I don\u2019t think the Giants will get beaten deep like the Vikings did. We saw how bad the Viking pass defense was last night. The Eagles’ passing game price boost is a bit inflated.<\/p>\n I am expecting a Buccaneers<\/a> bounce-back in what could be a high-scoring game. QB Baker Mayfield should have a solid game, especially if there is pushback from the Saints<\/a>\u2019 offense. My one concern is that WR Emeka Egbuka did not look ready on Monday and has been limited in practice this week. He can crush any slate, but I don\u2019t think I can play him at his price. I am most interested in WR Tez Johnson, who I think can have 5-plus catches and become a huge bargain if he scores in his third straight game. RB Rachaad White will have low ownership due to his price, but he could be a great pivot because I think he has a great shot to score more than 20 points. Don\u2019t sleep on TE Cade Otton, who has double-digit points in three straight games. He should continue to see many targets as WR Mike Evans is out. If he scores, he will make many winning lineups.<\/p>\n I think the Saints can score a bunch of points as well. I think QB Spencer Rattler is too cheap this week, and he will be in many of my lineups. You can\u2019t run on the Buccaneers, forcing him to pass, and he could have 50-plus attempts. Receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed both could have huge games. Olave will have the volume, and Shaheed will have the big plays, but I could see him having 6 plus catches as well. I like TE Juwan Johnson most weeks. He is limited in practice, but it seems like the tight end situation is always murky in New Orleans. I prefer Otton over him.<\/p>\n The Cowboys<\/a> offense has been on fire, but will it cool off versus a good Broncos<\/a> defense? I am looking for a lower-scoring game just because these two teams are coming off high-scoring games. I think Dallas will struggle to run the football, forcing them to throw a ton, even though it is a revenge game for RB Javontae Williams. I\u2019m not on WR CeeDee Lamb due to the coverage from Denver CB Patrick Surtain. TE Jake Ferguson should be solid, as he has been the best fantasy tight end. As mentioned, I expect Lamb to get the coverage, meaning WR George Pickens could have a huge game. I just don\u2019t know about his price because it is $7,100. His appeal is that his ownership is expected to be below 6% according to the DFS Hero Optimizer.<\/p>\n The Broncos offense was bad for about 50 minutes last week, and then they went on fire. They figure to have a good match-up against the Cowboys, but the Cowboys switched up their defense last week. They didn\u2019t play that deep zone and switched to man, but maybe that was just because Washington didn\u2019t have the receivers to match up with man with Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel out. It will be interesting to see what defense Dallas chooses because the Broncos can beat man. Either way, I do like WR Courtland Sutton. He is their best receiver and hasn\u2019t scored a touchdown in a month, but I think that changes this week. I know they have other receivers, but picking between Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin becomes very difficult. For me, it\u2019s Sutton or nothing at the receiver position. RB J.K. Dobbins should have a solid game, but he hasn\u2019t scored more than 16 fantasy points all year. He\u2019s going to need to score 20 plus to get in the winning lineups, and I don\u2019t see it happening.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Believe it or not, I think the Titans<\/a> could have a player who could make the winning lineups. The Colts<\/a> have no problem giving up the underneath passes, and QB Cam Ward is playing better since the first time these two teams met. WR Calvin Ridley still isn\u2019t practicing, which should continue to open the door for WR Chimere Dike, who had 16.9 fantasy points last week. WR Elic Ayomanor could also be a cheap WR option. TE Chig Okonkwo had a touchdown in the first meeting and could reach 15 points with a little more volume.<\/p>\n As for the Colts, it\u2019s all about RB Jonathan Taylor. He is priced up, but he leads the league in touchdowns with 11 and should be a lock for at least 110 total yards and a touchdown. His ability to rack up even more yardage and produce multiple scores makes him a slate breaker. He has been in the winning lineups in 5 of his seven games. The passing game led by QB Daniel Jones is excellent, but it has been capped because they run the ball so well and have had big second-half leads. I think WR Michael Pittman and TE Tyler Warren will have solid games, but can they have the big game to take down a tournament? WR Josh Downs is back, and he should dig into their production. I feel there are better receiving options because I see the Colts slowing down in the second half as two-touchdown favorites.<\/p>\nChicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens 1:00 p.m. EST<\/h3>\n
