While the Cincinnati Bengals are building themselves back on offense with the acquisition of Joe Flacco, linebacker Logan Wilson has requested a trade out of the team. According to the breaking news<\/a>, due to a reduced role, Wilson prefers to join a team where he could become a starter after losing his starting job to rookies Barrett Carter<\/a> and Demetrius Knight Jr., who have been chewing most of the defensive snaps. Unfortunately, in an earlier article<\/a>, it was bound for the Bengals to move him before the trade deadline, and now with his request, he could pick a team wherever he desires.<\/p>\n

Originally selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the former Wyoming product became one of the most adequate linebackers for the Bengals. Despite leading the team in tackles in 2022 and 2023, he hasn’t been the same since suffering a season-ending injury, ending his 2024 campaign. This now leads to his reduced defensive snaps (19.7%) against the Green Bay Packers, and it continued to be something to watch as the season progresses for the Bengals. There are several teams out there that would need reinforcements in their defensive unit, and while Wilson might have to work his way back to become a starter again, he should be able to receive interest.<\/p>\n

Wilson still has two years left on his four-year extension he signed in 2023, so that could take some time for teams to pull this off. With head coach Zac Taylor committing more to the rookies this year, they could do what they can to move Wilson. Here are four suitors that might work best for Wilson.<\/p>\n

1. Dallas Cowboys<\/h3>\n

While the Dallas Cowboys would prefer Trey Hendrickson in their defensive situation, they might have to settle for Wilson. They need linebacker help either way, as Damone Clark and Jack Sanborn haven’t been as consistent as the Cowboys were hoping. However, they should trade for Wilson sooner rather than later, as the defense is finding their rhythm again, and a returning DeMarvion Overshown<\/a> should be a sweet spot for a fresh beginning.<\/p>\n

2. Washington Commanders<\/h3>\n

The 2025 season is not over for the Washington Commanders despite Jayden Daniels<\/a>‘ injury and the uncertainty ahead of their schedule. They might make a run once Daniels returns, and while doing that, they should continue to bolster their defense. After losing Dorance Armstrong for the rest of the season<\/a>, they signed Drake Jackson before that happened, but he’s still recovering on IR. They might have to acquire Wilson to give this defense some life at least here, and it would be a solid trade for them either way, since Von Miller and Bobby Wagner could retire after the season is over, once their one-year contract is done.<\/p>\n

3. Chicago Bears<\/h3>\n

While the Chicago Bears’ run defense has found some momentum since their win over Washington, they might take a look at Wilson. Tremaine Edmunds<\/a> and TJ Edwards are a solid duo, so why not get Wilson in on the fun? Wilson won’t drastically bolster this defense, but it gives the Bears something to lean on to get after the quarterback.<\/p>\n

4. Carolina Panthers<\/h3>\n

Even though the Carolina Panthers are most likely to have a losing season again this year, defense wins championships, right? While that might be true, it’s hard to imagine that they do that now without quarterback Bryce Young. The Panthers tried to strengthen their defense this past offseason, signing Tershawn Wharton<\/a> and drafting Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen.
