While the Baltimore Ravens are still holding their breath for hope this 2025 season, they could trade running back Keaton Mitchell as soon as next week. Trade buzz has been circulating around<\/a> several reports regarding Mitchell and what his future holds on this roster. At 1-5, the Ravens are likely to be sellers if they wind up losing their next two matchups while being without quarterback Lamar Jackson. If things don’t go the way that the Ravens expect, the team trading Mitchell would make sense to rebuild for next year.<\/p>\n

Originally selected as an undrafted rookie in 2023, Mitchell hasn’t had a ton of playing time, and that’s due to their viable backup, Justice Hill, who has been one of the most reliable running backs behind veteran Derrick Henry<\/a>. Mitchell is the odd man out in this situation unless the Ravens have a formidable plan in place if Henry decides to retire suddenly after the year, which is unlikely. The third-year running back is likely to stay in Baltimore, but it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up if the Ravens are interested in trading him.<\/p>\n

Now, it might be time to decide on Mitchell’s future. Baltimore still has one of the best running back units between Henry and Hill, despite the costly fumbles at the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n

1. Los Angeles Chargers<\/h3>\n

It wouldn’t be the first time that the Harbaugh brothers come together on a trade. After the two exchanged in a deal by sending Odafe Oweh to Los Angeles and Alohi Gilman to Baltimore<\/a>, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Jim contacts John next week. The Chargers are still in the thick of the postseason race, but must find a replacement after losing Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton<\/a> in one season. Mitchell won’t light up the field, but he’s better than nothing of what they have in Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal.<\/p>\n

2. Dallas Cowboys<\/h3>\n

This would be the most logical destination for Mitchell. The Dallas Cowboys are always known to invest in younger talent, and they might trade for a backup running back here. While they’re keeping tabs on the defensive market, they should find help for Javonte Williams<\/a>. 2025 draft pick Jaydon Blue is expected to go through growing pains, so Mitchell’s presence should be a reliable resource for this ground game.<\/p>\n

3. Washington Commanders<\/h3>\n

It might look like the Washington Commanders aren’t contenders this season, but at 3-4, there’s still a chance. Unfortunately, they’ll be without quarterback Jayden Daniels this week, and they face the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the ground game for the Commanders needs major work here.
