We can all be grateful that none of them were of the season-ending variety, but there were some nervous moments across the country as we watched Puka Nacua rolling around on the turf in the Ravens‘ end zone. Thankfully, the injury looks to be minor, so we just had to deal with one week where Nacua didn’t give us 20+ PPR points. According to early reports, Puka will be day-to-day and looks like he will be ready to roll for this weekend.

Meanwhile, across the league, Marvin Harrison left his game in the second quarter with a concussion, Emeka Egbuka left his game with a hamstring injury, Garret Wilson injured his knee, and Calvin Ridley was knocked out with a hamstring injury of his own. Harrison will have to clear the league’s concussion protocol, and the rest will likely miss a week or two with their respective injuries. Thanks to a light bye week, we will only be missing the mixed bag that has been the Ravens and Bills wide receiver rooms. While some of you may have been starting Khalil Shakir every week, I think we won’t have to look too hard to replace his 3 catches for 33 yards he gave us last week. Let’s take a look at the top ten options at the position for this week.

Week 7 Wide Receiver Rankings

1) Jaxon Smith-Njigba @ Texans

Houston has been very good defensively this season, as they rank fifth against the pass and fourth overall against the WR position in fantasy. That’s all well and good, but JSN is absolutely matchup-proof right now. Week in and week out, he has been hammering opponents as he currently sits second overall behind Puka in total fantasy points scored. Puka’s injury status has us concerned enough to slide JSN into the top spot in this week’s rankings. Whether he finishes as the top-scoring WR overall this week or not, there isn’t a scenario where you would ever play another player over him right now. He’s as good as it gets in the league right now. Start him every week.

2) Amon Ra St. Brown vs. Bucs

The Sun God had a rough week in K.C. as he seemed stuck in second gear all night long. The volume was there with 12 targets and 9 receptions, but they only managed to get him 45 total yards on the night. While that’s still a respectable 13.5 points in PPR formats, we have come to expect more from the Lions’ top receiver. This week, they return home to take on the Bucs, and my gut says they will be looking to light up the scoreboard similarly to how they did after their only other loss this season. After they dropped the opening game of the season against the Packers in Green Bay, the Lions absolutely boat raced the Bears the next week, 52-21, when they returned home to Ford Field. Well, they just lost to the Chiefs on the Sunday Night prime time game (same as week 1), and now somebody is going to have to pay. In that game against Chicago, Amon Ra totaled 9 grabs for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. Yeah, we need to get him in this week.

3) Puka Nacua @ Jags (London)

The ankle injury he sustained last week isn’t deemed serious, but he has yet to participate in practice as of yet this week. Since this game is in London, set your alarms for early Sunday morning to avoid getting Warrened like many fantasy owners a few weeks ago when Pittsburgh played across the pond. If he’s able to play, we are going to assume he won’t be limited, and he gets a solid matchup against a Jacksonville defense that ranks 30th against the pass this season. Leave him in your lineups for now, but have a plan B ready.

4) Ja’Marr Chase vs. Steelers

On name value alone, the Steelers have what looks like one of the best secondaries of all time. Jalen Ramsey, Darius Slay, and Joey Porter are all great names in the Pantheon of NFL defensive backs, but those names have managed to rank a paltry 26th in the league when it comes to defending the pass. Those numbers have come defending against some other names that have appeared on this list, such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba (8-103), Garrett Wilson (7-95-1), and Justin Jefferson (10-126). Expect Chase to outscore them all as long as Joe Flacco is kept upright. In his first game as the Bengal QB, Flacco took the first half to figure things out as he only looked Chase’s way three times. In the second half, he came to his senses and locked in on his top WR with 9 targets, leading to a more than respectable 10 grabs for 94 yards and a score. I expect that to be the starting point going forward and for Chase to be a weekly fixture in the top 5 of this list.

5) Justin Jefferson vs. Eagles

Jefferson was finally hitting full stride before the Vikings’ Week 6 bye with his second consecutive 11-target and 120+ yard game. Just as Carson Wentz looked like he figured out his weekly assignment, the team will likely turn back to second-year signal caller, J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy is back practicing in full, and barring a change in plans, he should be back under center for the Vikes this Sunday against the Eagles. The Eagles defense has been a shadow of their former self, and if their second-year standout, Quinyon Mitchell, remains out with the hamstring injury that forced him from last Thursday’s game against the Giants, they will really struggle to slow down Jefferson. Typically, I wouldn’t rank two players from the same team this closely together, as it’s fairly difficult for one passing offense to sustain two players in the top 10. This has more to do with Puka’s questionable ankle injury than it does the matchup. If Nacua is unable to go, that would elevate Adams as one of the top options in the league this week. With a healthy Puca on the field, Davante is still easily a top 12-14 option, but with an increased workload, he will be elite. You should start him regardless of Puka’s gametime status, but set your expectations accordingly.

7) Nico Collins @ Seahawks

The Texans return this week after their bye and travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on Seattle and its 12th overall-ranked defense. While the Texans’ offensive line has drawn criticism, they have only allowed 12 sacks through five games, ranking them 18th in the league. Before the bye, it appeared that C.J. Stroud and Nick Caley were on the same page with the pre-snap reads, leading to better protection as well as better results from their passing game. This week, the Commanders passing game gets the single best matchup on the slate as they face the 32nd-ranked Cowboys pass defense in a game that has the highest implied point total for the week. The more pieces of this game you can get in your lineups, the better this week, as this should be a shootout. Dallas will likely have both Deron Bland and Treyvon Diggs back, but that shouldn’t deter you from starting any Commander. Deebo is a must-start, and McLaurin is as well if he can go.

When you get done here, make sure to check out our Week 7 Running Back Rankings!

10) Drake London @ 49ers

Photo Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

This!!!! This is what we were hoping for when we drafted London in the early second round. What we saw on Monday night was what we saw last year when Michael Penix took over for Kirk Cousins. He locked in on Drake early and often, and they made sweet music together all night long. London was able to convert a whopping 16 targets into 10 grabs for 158 yards and a touchdown (could have been 2). The fact that this was their first game after their bye week gives us even more hope that this was the game plan going in, and we can expect similar volume from her on out. We don’t want to get our hopes too high, but this weekend the Falcons are going to need to lean on their big guns if they are going to pull out a victory over a San Francisco team that should be getting healthier.

Some other names we really like this week include Courtland Sutton vs. the Giants, D.K.
