Welcome to week 7 of the fantasy football season. We only have two teams on bye this week, but they just happen to be the two teams that employ the top two quarterbacks that we drafted for our fantasy football teams. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson will get this week off, so many of their owners will be scrambling to fill their spots in fantasy lineups this weekend. The silver lining for Jackson owners is that they’ve been without him for the past two weeks, so they likely already have plan B on their roster. Lamar and company will get this week to further heal, and we all look forward to having him back at full strength for Week 8 and beyond. For now, let’s see how our Top 10 Week 7 Quarterback Rankings look.<\/p>\n

Week 7 Quarterback Rankings<\/h2>\n

1) Jaydin Daniels @ The Cowboys<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Every week, we’ve bumped the quarterback facing Dallas<\/a> up on this list, and that was when we were talking about guys like Caleb Williams, Jordan Love, and even Bryce Young. This week, we have a genuine elite talent facing this 32nd-ranked pass defense in a game that sits with the highest projected point total of the week at 55.5 points. He should shred the Cowboys through the air as well as on the ground this Sunday. The knee injury he suffered a few weeks ago doesn’t seem to be hindering his rushing ability as he’s compiled 91 yards on the ground in the two games since his return. If you drafted Daniels as a top 4 quarterback, you’re starting him every week.<\/p>\n

2) Dak Prescott vs. The Commanders<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As we mentioned, this game has the highest expected point total of the week, and we want to get as many pieces of both offenses in our lineups as we can. Dak has been very strong this year as his defense has forced him into chase mode in almost every game. So far this season, Dak has surpassed 22 fantasy points in 4 of 6 starts, including his last 3 games. The Commanders<\/a> are a bit tougher against the run than the pass, so Dallas will look to keep their offense balanced.<\/p>\n

There’s also a slight chance the Cowboys welcome back CeeDee Lamb to join a receiving corps that has been thriving with fantasy breakouts, Jake Ferguson, and George Pickens. Dak has been an elite option this season and is a must-start in all formats.<\/p>\n

3) Jalen Hurts @ The Vikings<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Hurts has had a rough year in the eyes of many critics in real-life football, but he is still a top 5 scorer in fantasy. He has scored 19+ points in 5 out of his 6 starts in 2025, and much of that has come without much contribution from his legs over his last three starts. While Hurts averaged almost 40 yards rushing over his first three starts with 4 total rushing scores, he has been held to an average of just over 25 yards with 1 score in his past three games. This week, I expect the rushing aspect of his game to return as he faces a Minnesota<\/a> defense that ranks 24th in the league against the run while sitting at #2 overall against the pass.<\/p>\n

4) Baker Mayfield @ The Lions<\/h3>\n

\"Baker<\/p>\n

Baker has been magical this season as he’s been playing at an MVP level, even with his teammates dropping like flies. He lost All-Pro lineman Tristan Werfs before the season even began, then he lost Mike Evans. Chris Godwin returned from his off-season surgery for a whole two games before he was reinjured, and then last week, rookie sensation Emeka Egbuka went down with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

Baker hasn’t skipped a beat, as he’s made the best of working with the guys he has left. These two teams were matched up a year ago in what we expected to be an exciting rematch of the previous season’s playoff game, where Baker threw for 349 yards and 3 scores. The rematch left much to be desired as Baker acted more as a game manager in a 20-16 win for the Bucs<\/a>. This week, the Lions<\/a> will look to come out firing after a Week 6 loss in Kansas City<\/a>, and I expect a bunch of points to be scored. Look for Baker to put the ball in the air closer to 40+ times, like he did in the playoff game, rather than 19 times like last year.<\/p>\n

5) Patrick Mahomes vs. The Raiders<\/h3>\n

\"Patrick<\/p>\n

Mahomes enters this matchup against Las Vegas<\/a> after his second consecutive 30+ point fantasy game with even more weapons at his disposal than he has had all season. Rashee Rice comes back after his six-game suspension, and we will finally get to see Patrick operate this Chiefs offense with his full arsenal. Mahomes is on pace to set a career high in rushing yards as he’s already compiled 222 in six games; his career high is 389 in a full season.<\/p>\n

Typically, we would have a player who has posted 23+ points in five of his six starts much higher on this list, but our slight concern here lies with the opponent. Mahomes has been running more, but it’s really just been in games when he needs to. In the two games against the Giants<\/a> and Ravens<\/a>, who are ranked 28th and 29th against the pass, respectively, he totaled only 7 rushing yards as the Chiefs were able to win by multiple scores. In the other more contested matchups, he’s averaged almost 54 yards per game on the ground. While I don’t expect Mahomes to rack up rushing yards, he should still give us a 20+ point day between passing yards and scores.<\/p>\n

6) Jared Goff vs. The Bucs<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Goff has only played two of his first six games in the cozy confines of Ford Field. This week, he finally returns home after two consecutive road games, including a road loss in Kansas City last weekend. The Lions will look to come out shooting, much like they did in Week 2 at home against Chicago<\/a> after their only other loss on the season. In that game, Detroit hung over 50 points on the Bears, led by Goff throwing for 334 yards and 5 scores. The Bucs can be beaten through the air, and I expect the Lions to keep their foot on the gas no matter what the score is through all 4 quarters. Goff is in a great spot this week to flirt with 30 fantasy points; get him in your lineup.<\/p>\n

7) Drake Maye @ The Titans<\/h3>\n

\"Patriots<\/p>\n

The Patriots<\/a> sit in first place in the AFC East, and much of the credit can go to their young signal-caller. Maye currently ranks as the 6th-highest scoring QB in total points this season with 123.4 through 6 games. He has a matchup this week against a Tennessee<\/a> defense that ranks as the 4th-worst overall matchup in the league for fantasy quarterbacks.<\/p>\n

That can largely be attributed to their weak run defense and almost complete lack of offense, which allows opponents to basically run out the clock in the second half of games. Maye should still be able to score enough early in this game to make him a solid fantasy starter this week. Put him in and hope the Titans can score close to 20 points, which should be enough to keep Maye attacking through at least 3 quarters.<\/p>\n

8) Caleb Williams vs The Saints<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Williams and the Bears return home after pulling out a last-second win in Washington this past Monday night. The former top pick has quietly been a solid fantasy starter all season long, ranking inside the top 12 in overall points scored. He’s been able to avoid any landmine games with double-digit scoring every week and has shown his upside and running ability with 20+ points in two of his five starts.<\/p>\n

This week, the Bears get a Saints<\/a> defense that is winless on the road and has allowed just under 30 points per game in their 5 losses. The Bears offense came out of their bye clicking on all cylinders, and it looks as if they plan to involve rookie speedster Luther Burden more in their game plan. While Rome Odunze had a down statistical week, Caleb was able to eclipse 250 passing yards by spreading the ball around to 8 different pass catchers. The Bears are in a great spot to put up 30+ points this week, and Williams is going to be at the center of the action.<\/p>\n

9) Bo Nix vs The Giants<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Nix has been up and down this year, but this feels like he’s due for an “up week”. The Giants come to town after winning their second game of the season with a shocking upset of the Eagles last Thursday, and they will bring their 27th-ranked pass defense with them. The strength of the Giants defense is their pass rush, but their secondary is extremely beatable. Expect Nix to connect with Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and former Giant Evan Engram downfield throughout this game.<\/p>\n

The Broncos<\/a> are going to look to put up a big number at home this week after scoring just 13 last Sunday in London, and Nix should be in the mix for most of the scoring. He has a lower floor than some other options like Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, and even Daniel Jones, but his upside makes him an intriguing play this week.<\/p>\n

10) Justin Fields vs The Panthers<\/h3>\n

\"Justin<\/p>\n

Speaking of players with a lower floor… Fields has been the epitome of a boom-or-bust player so far in 2025. He has played in 5 games so far, and he has given us three weeks with 25+ fantasy points and two games with less than five fantasy points. This is the kind of player that can win you a league but also make you rip your hair out in the process. He’s coming off one of those bust games and gets a Carolina<\/a> defense that has allowed an average of over 30 points per game in all 3 of their road games this year.<\/p>\n

While it may be a stretch to assume the Jets<\/a> will put up north of 30, they should improve upon the 11 they scored last week. The upside potential of Fields is too good to risk leaving on your bench unless you have a much safer option like the above-mentioned Love, Herbert, Jones, etc. If you have Fields, get him in and cross your fingers. This week, he very well may score 40 fantasy points (he can also be benched in the 2nd quarter in favor of Tyrod Taylor).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
