The second-year wide receiver, who many inside the organization quietly describe as the Chiefs\u2019 most complete offensive weapon, is set to return to the practice field Wednesday following the completion of his six-game suspension.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Multi-vehicle crash in Dallas last March.<\/h3>\n<p>Rice\u2019s ban, issued under the NFL\u2019s personal conduct policy for his involvement in a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/06\/21\/report-chiefs-rashee-rice-suspension-timeline-revealed\/\" target=\"_self\">March 2024 car crash in Dallas<\/a>, kept him away from football activity for more than a month. Yet, by all accounts, Rice didn\u2019t waste a single day.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/09\/11\/andy-reid-gives-injury-update-on-chiefs-xavier-worthy\/\" target=\"_self\">Andy Reid<\/a> shared his excitement following the end of the suspension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen, I know he\u2019s been working like crazy,\u201d said Reid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rule states that we can\u2019t work with him, but I know he\u2019s been working out hard. He\u2019s in good shape, that I know for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/10\/11\/lions-vs-chiefs-prediction-sunday-night-football\/\" target=\"_self\">Kansas City <\/a>could have waited until Sunday to reinstate Rice to the 53-man roster, but instead did it immediately after his suspension expired, a clear sign of confidence that he\u2019s ready for Sunday\u2019s AFC West showdown against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/08\/25\/amari-cooper-signs-contract-raiders\/\" target=\"_self\">\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs managed to tread water without Rice, posting a 3\u20133 record capped by Sunday night\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/10\/11\/lions-vs-chiefs-prediction-sunday-night-football\/\" target=\"_self\">30-17 win over the Detroit Lions<\/a>. Kansas City\u2019s wide receiver room features <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/08\/11\/chiefs-brown-message-injury-dolphins-hill-jaguars\/\" target=\"_self\">Hollywood Brown<\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0who\u2019s back from a shoulder injury, and rookie speedster\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/09\/27\/clark-espn-news-chiefs-worthy-thronton-ravens\/\" target=\"_self\">Xavier Worthy<\/a><\/strong>, the team\u2019s first-round pick in 2024. Together, the trio represents a level of firepower Mahomes hasn\u2019t had since the days of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/10\/01\/tyreek-hill-wants-to-play-in-2026-it-probably-wont-be-for-the-dolphins\/\" target=\"_self\">Tyreek Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose are my brothers,\u201d Brown said after Sunday\u2019s win. \u201cWe\u2019ve all been through a lot individually, so this moment isn\u2019t something we\u2019ll take for granted. We\u2019re going to play hard for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A Long-Awaited Reunion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s been nearly two years since Rice, Brown, and Worthy last shared the field \u2014 one play, to be exact, in the 2024 preseason opener against Jacksonville before injuries sidelined both receivers.<\/p>\n<p>Now, all three are healthy. All three are ready. And all three are itching to prove that Kansas City\u2019s offense is still the NFL\u2019s gold standard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat dude\u2019s gotten stronger, faster, smarter \u2014 he\u2019s got it all,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>JuJu Smith-Schuster<\/strong>\u00a0of Rice. \u201cHe\u2019s been working with great trainers back home, and you can tell he\u2019s ready. You can see it in his eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Reid, usually cautious with his optimism, couldn\u2019t hide his excitement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they\u2019re looking forward to it \u2014 maybe even more than I am,\u201d Reid said. \u201cThey\u2019re excited to play together. Those three are very close.
