Both teams struggled to put points on the board, but after the Rams capitalized on a costly fumble by wide receiver Zay Flowers and scored 14 points in two minutes, the Ravens’ toothless offense couldn’t keep up and ultimately lost the game. This defeat highlights the Ravens’ continuous mistakes on both sides of the ball. Missed opportunities and poor execution continue to define what’s become a frustrating season.

Oct 12, 2025; Baltimore, Maryland, USA; Los Angeles Rams linebacker Nate Landman (53) tackles Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (4) during the second quarter of the game at M&T Bank Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens Fall to 1-5 after Repeat Mistakes

Ball Security

The Ravens fumbled three times against the Rams, killing any chance of gaining momentum and mounting a comeback. This isn’t just a one-time thing, as the Ravens have struggled with fumbles against the Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Lions, and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Ravens pride themselves on their discipline with the ball. However, they have lost five fumbles in six weeks, nearly matching the seven fumbles they lost in the entire 2024 season. Therefore, if the Ravens hope to turn their season around, fixing the fumbling issue should be a priority.

Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh believes that without the mistakes, this game was easily winnable.

“We put ourselves in a position where we could have won that football game, probably you could say we should have won it, but we didn’t do the things you have to do to win the game. We made some critical mistakes that cost us the opportunity to win the game, and that’s what it boils down to,” Harbaugh said.

Red Zone Offense

The Ravens failed to find the endzone at all against the Rams. The closest chance came from a 1st and goal at the 4-yard line, where Derrick Henry ran for three yards to put Baltimore inside the one. Unfortunately, the Rams’ defense held firm, stopping Mark Andrews twice on back-to-back tush push attempts and bringing down Derrick Henry for a two-yard loss on fourth down, leaving the Ravens with nothing.

“Every single player and coach would agree that we should be pushing that in, it should get pushed in on the first one, and if not the first one, it should get pushed in on the second one … so I’m disappointed in that one. The other play I didn’t love either,” Harbaugh said.

What’s Next

The upcoming bye week should allow the Ravens to get healthy and work on the mistakes that continue to shoot them in the foot. Baltimore expects star quarterback Lamar Jackson and linebacker Roquan Smith to play in the week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears. The return of these players will provide a much-needed boost on both sides of the ball, as well as leadership and experience.

If the Ravens can use the bye week to their advantage and fix the sloppy mistakes, they could make a late-season push and hope to enter playoff contention.

Main Photo: Rafael Suanes-Imagn Images

The Baltimore Ravens fall to 1-5 after poor execution and costly turnovers, leaving fans frustrated so early on in the season.

[6431,10
931,1056,3627,9722
post-250600","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-teams","category-ravens","tag-john-harbaugh","tag-lamar-jackson","tag-roquan-smith","tag-zay-flowers
["GET
