The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, and teams across the league are already making moves to fortify their rosters. While big names like Joe Flacco<\/a> and Greg Newsome already have new homes<\/a>, they won’t be the only veterans to switch teams in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

NFL Trade Deadline: 4 Moves That Could Happen After Week 6<\/h2>\n

While the NFL trade deadline isn’t until early November, contenders don’t want to wait around that long to bolster their teams. In a similar vein, rebuilding organizations won’t want to keep players on expiring contracts, as their value decreases with every game. Teams are more impatient than ever, and these four players could be entering the final game with their current organization.<\/p>\n

1. Breece Hall<\/h3>\n

Breece Hall is in the final year of his rookie contract and recently said he wants to stay with the New York Jets. That may be true, but he ultimately doesn’t have much of a say in the matter. As the NFL’s only team still looking for its first win, the New York Jets will almost certainly sell at the deadline, as their season is effectively over. Seeing as this roster isn’t the most talented in the NFL, Hall is easily the most enticing trade candidate and should receive plenty of interest as we approach the deadline.<\/p>\n

Running backs are dropping like flies, and teams like the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs should be among the top suitors for Hall’s services. Los Angeles lost Najee Harris earlier in the year and just placed first-round pick Omarion Hampton<\/a> on the short-term injured reserve. While Hampton should return, the Chargers need a short-term workhorse and would probably prefer someone like Hall down the stretch to ease the burden on Hampton.<\/p>\n

2. Chris Olave<\/h3>\n

Chris Olave is one of the league’s better young receivers when healthy, but he may not be in the Saints long-term plans. Fellow wide receiver Rashid Shaheed<\/a> will hit free agency following the season, and the cash-strapped Saints probably can’t afford to keep both players. Given his extensive concussion history, the Saints should trade Olave and build around Shaheed’s abilities.<\/p>\n

There is no such thing as too many reliable receivers in today’s day and age, so Olave should have a market as we get closer to the NFL trade deadline. The New England Patriots could use another wide receiver, as the team is ahead of schedule in their rebuild, and quarterback Drake Maye<\/a> has the talent to take this team deep into the playoffs with additional help. The Pittsburgh Steelers, meanwhile, are going all-in on the final years of Aaron Rodgers, and the four-time MVP is no longer the player he once was and could use more help in the passing game.<\/p>\n

3. Russell Wilson<\/h3>\n

Thursday Night Football’s matchup against the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles shows just how much head coach Brian Daboll<\/a> does not want to see Russell Wilson play for his team. While Wilson stopped playing like a franchise quarterback years ago, he’s on a team-friendly deal and is still a top-32 quarterback in this league. Any team looking for a short-term starter could probably get him for a conditional late-round pick at the NFL trade deadline.<\/p>\n

The only question is which team would want him? The Cincinnati Bengals made the most sense before the Joe Flacco trade, but the former Super Bowl MVP’s presence takes them out of the equation. Barring an injury to one of the league’s other starters, the only logical fit is the Las Vegas Raiders. Geno Smith has struggled throughout the season, and Wilson will provide more competition than Kenny Pickett.<\/p>\n

4. David Njoku<\/h3>\n

The Cleveland Browns already traded Joe Flacco and Greg Newsome, but their fire sale could continue with David Njoku. The veteran tight end is still a good player, but he’s in the final year of his contract and the Browns are going nowhere fast with rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel<\/a> leading the offense. Seeing as rookie Harold Fannin is playing well, Njoku could be a popular player at the NFL trade deadline.<\/p>\n

Tight ends that can block and catch at above-average levels are hard to find, so every contender in the league could be in on David Njoku. With that in mind, a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could go after Njoku. Payne Durham and Cade Otton aren’t anything special, and this team could use more reinforcements with Mike Evans battling injury and Chris Godwin still knocking off the rust from last year’s season-ending injury.<\/p>\n
