Did we finally have a week where we didn’t lose a high-end wide receiver to injury? Whew, I think we might have survived this week after losing the likes of CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, Malik Nabers, and Mike Evans over the past couple of weeks. Week 5 saw more of what we’ve become accustomed to as Puka Nacua continued to rampage opponents, taking 12 targets and turning them into 10 grabs for 85 yards and a score. Emeka Egbuka continued his campaign for offensive rookie of the year with a monster performance of his own, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba stayed firmly in the top 3 with a big showing of his own in that very same game. While these three should easily remain in our top 10 wide receiver rankings, let’s see who else we have available. The light bye week will have a bit of an impact on this position more than others, as weekly top 10 candidates Nico Collins and Justin Jefferson will be off.

Week 6 Top 10 Wide Receiver Rankings

1) Puka Nacua vs. Baltimore

He’s been a beast all season, and this week he gets what’s left of the Ravens defense. Baltimore is ranked 31st in the league against the pass, and the only way Puka doesn’t have a big day is if the Rams don’t need him. You could hear the collective sighs of relief across fantasy football America as the top-drafted wideout in most of our drafts finally showed up in week 5. He actually never left us, but it sure did feel like he did. Back in week 2, Chase and Burrow combined for 14 grabs on 16 targets for 165 yards and a score, and all was right in the world. Then, Burrow was taken from us by the cruel fantasy fates, and Ja’Marr was left with Jake Browning and a whole lot of Sundays running wind sprints without the ball. Last week was refreshing, and things should only get (marginally) better as Joe Flacco will now be feeding Chase and Higgins. If the Bengals can keep him upright, he’ll get the ball to his top targets, and that will start with Ja’Marr Chase. This week, he gets a Jaguars team that ranks 27th in the league against the pass. We saw how leaky they can get on Monday night as Tyquon Thornton was able to get open deep on more than one occasion. Luckily for EE, Godwin’s return coincided with Mike Evans’ departure, leaving the Ohio State rookie in a key role in the Buccaneers passing game. Egbuka has made the most of his opportunity as he leads the Tampa offense in TDs with five through five games, as well as ranking 4th overall in the league in receiving yards. His 17.8 yards per catch rank tops in the NFL amongst players with 20 or more catches. When Evans returns, there may be some drop off, but for now, you can start him with confidence as your WR1.

5) Drake London vs. Buffalo

The Falcons are going to have to throw the ball a bunch to keep up with Buffalo and Josh Allen. London and friends return from their bye to host the Bills after a one-week hiatus. Before the break, Michael Penix was able to unlock his top target to the tune of 10 targets with 8 catches for 110 yards and a score. The performance was reminiscent of Penix at the end of last year, where he looked for London 13 times per game on average. With volume like that, we expect a top 12 performance from London similar to what we saw from Stephon Diggs against this same defense in week 5.

6) Davante Adams vs Baltimore

I don’t usually love putting two teammates in the top 10, let alone the top 6, but this matchup is just too good to pass up. Adams is amongst the league leaders in targets and yards per reception, acting as the Robin to Puka Nacua’s Batman in the Rams offense. The pass volume has been there week in and week out as Adams has been able to find the end zone three times on top of his 22 receptions and 357 yards. We just need to hope that the Ravens are able to score a few points at home this week so the Rams can keep their collective foot on the proverbial pedal all game long.

7) Rome Odunze vs. Washington

He’s established himself as the alpha in this receiver room and has become the wideout that opposing defensive coordinators have to game plan to stop. He’s yet to catch his first TD this season (he has 1 rushing score), and this week very well could be the week he breaks through against a Seahawks D that ranks 24th against the pass. You drafted him to be your WR1 or WR2, and this week, your patience will be rewarded. Play him instead of somebody like Quenten Johnston or Zay Flowers.

9) Tetairoa McMillan vs. Dallas

Here is another guy who feels like he’s ready to explode. The targets have been there all year as Bryce Young has been looking the big rookie’s way at least eight times in every game. While he was able to break the century mark once back in Week 2, he still has yet to put it all together and find the end zone. This week, Young and TMc will get to take on a Dallas defense that ranks dead last in the league against the pass. This should be the big rookie’s coming-out party, don’t let it happen on your bench.

10) Xavier Worthy vs. Detroit

This game is going to be a shootout, and we want to get as many pieces of it in our lineups as we can. If you have any Chiefs or Lions skill player, get them in your lineup. Worthy looks to be somewhat healthy as he’s avoided the injury report thus far this week after missing a couple of games with a shoulder injury and then tweaking an ankle upon his return. The Chiefs are finding ways to get him the ball, and I expect him to find the end zone at least once this week. This is a great week to play Worthy as well as his counterpart, Jameson Williams in Detroit.

Also, make sure to check out the top streaming options for Week 6!

Did we make it?
