\u201cLet\u2019s see if we can get to 500 or something,\u201d was Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes’<\/a>\u00a0response after becoming the youngest player in NFL history to throw 250 touchdown passes.<\/p>\n

Mahomes wants to win for accolades with the team<\/h2>\n

The milestone came Sunday evening when Mahomes found running back Isiah Pacheco<\/a> for an eight-yard score to put the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0up 20-7 over the Baltimore Ravens<\/a>. Kansas City went on to win 37-20 behind four Mahomes touchdown passes \u2014 his most in a game since Week 7 of the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is easy to forget that I have an amazing team beside me. That is what makes it easier for me to keep going,\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cI am surrounded by winners.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added,” The is so much potential in the team. We were able to do so, cleaning up which shows we can do even better collectively.”<\/p>\n

The Chiefs, meanwhile, surpassed 35 points for the first time since September 24, 2023, when they defeated the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

Historic pace<\/h3>\n

Since Kansas City traded up to select Mahomes with the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the quarterback has rewritten expectations. He burst onto the scene in 2018 with 50 touchdown passes and has thrown at least 25 in every season since. Through four weeks of the 2025 campaign, he already has five.<\/p>\n

Mahomes\u2019 250th scoring throw makes him just the 28th quarterback in NFL history to reach the milestone. He also ranks 45th all-time in passing yards (33,021), fifth in playoff passing yards (5,814), and second in playoff passing touchdowns (46), trailing only Tom Brady.<\/p>\n

Super Bowl mainstay<\/h3>\n

Mahomes\u2019 numbers are matched by his postseason dominance. Since taking over as a starter in 2018, he has led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game every year. Kansas City has appeared in five of the last six Super Bowls, winning three \u2014 in 2019, 2022, and 2023.<\/p>\n

He has been named Super Bowl MVP in each of those victories and has twice earned the Associated Press NFL MVP award.<\/p>\n

We have to keep trusting everyone in the system to deliver. That is what makes us formidable,” he said<\/p>\n

Reid: \u201cWe\u2019re lucky to have him\u201d<\/h3>\n

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid praised his quarterback\u2019s latest milestone, saying Mahomes deserves every accolade.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s phenomenal. That\u2019s incredible,\u201d Reid told reporters. \u201cWhatever you write good about him, he deserves, man, let me tell you. You can give him everything. He\u2019s a joker. It\u2019s unbelievable. We\u2019re lucky to have him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mahomes was in full praise of wide receiver\u00a0 Xavier Worthy <\/a>who made an impactful return to the team after an injury.<\/p>\n

“He’s just so explosive,” said Mahomes of the 2024 first-round draft pick. “When he gets the football in his hands, defenses have to adjust. He gets so much attention that other guys get open.”<\/p>\n

Worthy had missed the previous two games with a shoulder injury sustained when he accidentally collided with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the Week 1 loss to the Chargers. Worthy had only played three snaps this season before returning against the Ravens.<\/p>\n

It was a memorable return. He led the Chiefs in rushing yards (38), receiving yards (83) and targets (8). Worthy did not find the end zone, but he showed the big-play ability that Mahomes referred to with a 35-yard run and a 38-yard catch.<\/p>\n

Mahomes’ next chance at throwing a TD pass will come in the Chiefs Week 5 battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars on ‘Monday Night Football.’<\/p>\n
