The Kansas City Chiefs got not just good, but \u201cexcellent news\u201d entering their Week 4 showdown against the Baltimore Ravens<\/a>. The Chiefs are 1-2 and looking to stack wins. That task got a lot easier, at least on paper, with the highly anticipated return of wide receiver Xavier Worthy<\/a>, who has not played since the regular season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> due to a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n

With Worthy back, the Chiefs can continue expanding upon a promising trend.<\/p>\n

Worthy was injured on a hit from Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce<\/a>, which the veteran tight end lamented in the aftermath. His absence amplified that of Rashee Rice, who is serving a six-game suspension for violating the NFL\u2019s conduct policy.<\/p>\n

The No. 28 overall selection of the 2024 draft, Worthy caught 59 passes for 639 yards and 6 touchdowns as a rookie. He received one target this season before his injury.<\/p>\n

Still, Super Bowl champion Ryan Clark<\/a>, now an analyst for ESPN, lauded Worthy\u2019s return.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is excellent news, and I think it\u2019s excellent news because of Tyquan Thornton<\/a>\u2019s emergence. You know that you have another valuable threat at the receiver position. Now, you add Xavier Worthy to that,\u201d Clark said on \u201cNFL Live<\/a>\u201d on September 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to see if they’re going to utilize him in that role we saw develop down the stretch, where it wasn\u2019t all about taking the chunk shots. It was about putting the football in his hands early.\u201d<\/p>\n
