Mike McDaniel, Dolphins

Far and away the most likely name on this list, the Miami Dolphins might need a new voice leading this organization. While McDaniel is a great offensive mind who should quickly find a job as an offensive coordinator, his message appears to have grown stale in the clubhouse. Following their loss on Thursday Night Football, the team is now 0-3 with one of the league’s worst defenses and offensive lines. While McDaniels’ scheme can still generate the occasional big play, it’s not enough to make Tua Tagovailoa productive enough to win football games.

McDaniel first joined the Dolphins in 2022, and although he led the team to the playoffs on two occasions, he has yet to deliver a playoff win. The NFL is a results-based business, and he will probably be the first of the head coaches to lose his job. However, he won’t be the last, and less patient owners could part ways with their coaches before Miami cans McDaniel.

Sep 14, 2025; Arlington, Texas, USA; New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll reacts after a play against the Dallas Cowboys during the third quarter at AT&T Stadium. Brian Daboll, Giants

Remember when Brian Daboll guided the New York Giants to a playoff win during his first year with the organization? Since then, the Giants head coach has endured nothing but disaster after disaster, as the team currently sits at 0-2 despite strong play from Russell Wilson in Week 2’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. If he can’t turn this team around, he’ll likely be out of a job in the coming weeks.

Daboll came to New York as an offensive mind, and seeing Daniel Jones succeed in Indianapolis certainly isn’t helping his chances of sticking around in New York. While Wilson played well last week, Daboll’s best chance of keeping his job could rest with first-round pick Jaxson Dart. If he can bring out the best in the rookie, perhaps he can stick around for another season or two.

Sep 14, 2025; Glendale, Arizona, USA; Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales looks on during the third quarter against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Matt Kartozian-Imagn Images

3. Dave Canales, Panthers

This one, admittedly, would come as a surprise, but owner David Tepper has made stranger moves. Canales was hired to turn Bryce Young into a franchise quarterback, and the jury is still out on the former first-overall pick. While he had a strong finish to the 2024 season, he hasn’t captured that same success in 2025. With the defense looking weak and only one reliable receiver on offense, Canales could be out of a job after just two seasons.

Subjectively speaking, firing Canales is probably not the right move for the Carolina Panthers. This organization is widely viewed as one of the least stable units in football, and firing another coach less than two years into his tenure would only hurt their leaguewide reputation. However, Tepper isn’t the most patient owner in the world, and he might just fire Tepper if he can’t turn the season around.

These the NFL head coaches are on the hot seat and could lose their job in the coming weeks as losses keep coming in

[36,30,4,20
3472,32634,7777,8908,7300,7661
post-247526","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-panthers","category-dolphins","category-giants","tag-brian-daboll","tag-dave-canales","tag-miami-dolphins-news","tag-mike-mcdaniel","tag-new-york-giants-news","tag-panthers-featured
["GET
