The list of 11 injured players includes 8 defensive players. And out of those 8 defensive players on the list, five are cornerbacks, and the other two are one LB, one defensive end, and another one is a safety.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The overall list of injured players includes linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, cornerback Trevor Diggs<\/strong><\/a>, safety Markquese Bell, cornerback Josh Butler, cornerback Caelen Carson, cornerback Kemon Hall, and cornerback Shavon Revel. DeMarvion Overshown<\/a> suffered an ACL and MCL injury in his knee during the fourth quarter of the Cowboys\u2019 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong> <\/a>on December 8, 2024. Several reports suggest that he may not be available in the starting lineup to help the Dallas Cowboys in their crucial matchup against the <\/span>Philadelphia Eagles<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent update on July 16, ESPN’s Ben Solak wrote in his report,<\/span> “Expect the Cowboys to be cautious with Overshown\u2026 Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said in April that the team does not expect Overshown to start the season, and local reporters have tagged November as a likely window to return.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Josh Butler had torn his ACL in a Week 13 win over the New York Giants<\/strong><\/a>. But on July 17, the cornerback gave a sigh of relief to the fans who were nervous about the Cowboys’ injury report. He posted on X, <\/span>\u201cReady for camp\u201d<\/em>.<\/b> Butler had an outstanding performance in Week 12 against the Commanders, where he recorded 12 tackles, three pass defenses, and a sack.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stavon Revel, who was the 3rd round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2025 NFL draft, is suffering from a setback in his knee, while his week 1 chances are still hazy. An NFL insider, Albert Breer, reported on June 18, 2025, that Revel is still recovering from his knee injury. Shavon Revel Jr.<\/a> suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during a practice session in September, which forced him to miss the remainder of the 2024 college football season with East Carolina.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The point to be noted here is that, according to many sources, prior to the current knee injury, Shavon Revel has suffered from a number of injuries. His injuries include a fractured skull, broken nose, and broken collarbone, which he had broken in high school. Caelen Carson suffered a shoulder injury in the week 3 game and missed four games. Markquese Bell injury update<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Markquese Bell, in the Nov 19 game against the Houston Texans, suffered a shoulder injury which led to a season-ending surgery. However, throughout the offseason, Bell noticed a recovery. That’s why RotoWire reported recently, Markquese Bell will look to carve out a more significant role on defense in 2025, as he was a key part of the 2024 season defense.<\/span><\/p>\n

John Stephens Jr. Injury Update<\/b><\/h3>\n

To talk about John Stephens Jr.\u2019s injury updates, the Cowboys Wire reported on July 17, 2025, <\/span>\u201cUnfortunately for Stephens, his 2024 season came to an abrupt end after he suffered a torn ACL in practice late October.\u201d<\/span><\/i> The Wire also stated, <\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s the same knee and same injury as a year before and may even delay the start to his 2025 campaign as a result. If anyone has earned sleeper status, it\u2019s Stephens.\u201d <\/span><\/i>The 25-year-old tight end John Stephens had suffered a knee (ACL) injury in October 2024. And the franchise is not quite sure when the TE would return. He missed the whole 2024 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nathan Thomas and Sam Williams Injury Update<\/b><\/h3>\n

There is no specific injury update available on Nathan Thomas. But according to the Cowboys Wire report on June 30, <\/span>\u201cThomas has a chance to make the 2025 roster as the Cowboys have issues at both tackle spots. Tyler Guyton had a mostly down rookie year as a first-round pick, and his backup, Asim Richards, doesn’t have a ton of experience, either.\u201d<\/span><\/i> Thomas was placed on injured reserve in the 2025 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
