At the time of writing, the Chargers released their uniforms a few short hours ago, with majorly positive feedback from the community. A new, welcomed change by the Chargers and their fanbase.

With that said, how do these uniforms stack up against one another?

just hits, no misses pic.twitter.com/fWZfHyGiMD

— Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) July 15, 2025

Ranking The Chargers’ New Uniforms: The Best Just Got Better

Obviously, this ranking is strictly my opinion. I would consider myself somewhat stylish outside of sports; however, my ankle sock usage during my time playing in high school really does not help my case.

3. The All Yellows… They Really Did It

Could this be a reference to Kendrick Lamar? Because these look like mustard.

Terrible jokes aside, these Chargers uniforms definitely did not need to be released, as it is quite obvious that the general public will dislike all yellow uniforms, because, well, they are yellow. In the photos featuring Justin Herbert, he is wearing a blue compression legging-esque piece of clothing on both legs, which really adds to the terrible contrast that these uniforms have.

I know that many of you didn’t grow up in the Charger Power era of the late 70’s and early 80’s but I did and I freaking love that they honor the yellow. It might not be your favorite but to me it’s simply beautiful pic.twitter.com/dCCFsJyve2

— James Ebo (@james_ebo) July 15, 2025

The powder blue/yellow combination only really works when the vibrant yellow is in small amounts. Even the Powder Blue / Yellow Pant combination was cutting it close.

All in all, I am glad they are only using these once this coming season against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.

Speaking of Colts, the Chargers could pick up one of their possible roster cuts.

2. Full Powder Blue, The Jersey & Pant Combination We’ve Been Waiting For

This Chargers uniform combination is seemingly getting the least amount of attention, which is understandable considering the strong, polar opposite reactions the media is giving from uniform #1 and uniform #3 on this list.

That said, these uniforms should not be slept on whatsoever. What this new uniform really is: the addition of Powder Blue pants, which gives the Chargers the option to finally get rid of those, quite honestly, ugly yellow pants.

A new option with the #Chargers uniform drop: powder blue pants. White on powder and full powder now both possible combinations. pic.twitter.com/FhmFNLBE06

— Daniel Popper (@danielrpopper) July 15, 2025

The main new combination that is now available to the Chargers is the full Powder Blues, which remains one of the league’s most iconic colors. Couple this with the possibility to go white jersey, blue pants and you have something consistently going.

1. Chargers Just Made The Case To Have The Best Uniform In The Entire League

If only these could be worn for every home game. These are absolutely beautiful and perfectly encapsulate playing on nostalgia while keeping that modern and fresh feel that the Chargers’ current uniforms possess.

for the culture pic.twitter.com/pHLXWyO4HV

— Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) July 15, 2025

Even if you are a new fan who does not have core memories of the early 2000s Chargers teams, these uniforms should still appeal to you. The dark coloring of the navy blue contrasted with the electric vibrance of the yellow really does not get any better. I would argue that these also capture exactly the play that the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh want to show in 2025.

The dark navy shows grit, a hand-in-the-dirt style of play, coupled with the electricity of the Chargers’ stars making big plays, which could be comparable to the yellow on the uniforms.

Last Word On The New Chargers Uniforms

With this ranking being just my opinion, please feel free to start a discussion below in the comment section. I would love to discuss and get more opinions on the subject!

That said, the Chargers may have just added a few extra “Ws” in the win column. As the cliche goes, look good, play good.

Main Image: Kirby Lee – Imagn Images

Some positive Chargers news for a change.
