However, it’s becoming a difficult situation with this offense as they’re yet to find out if quarterback Aaron Rodgers will finally join them for the 2025 season since mandatory camp is around the corner. This is one of the several worries on their list, so they could at least have some talent, no matter who will be the signal-caller of this roster, to move this team in the right direction after letting both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields walk in free agency.

Davis has been on the market since his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars since they drafted wide receiver Travis Hunter to build a new offense and pair with Brian Thomas Jr. to help Trevor Lawrence in the aerial attack. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the former UCF product became one of the most dependable weapons for the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen. However, the team couldn’t compensate his next contract, so the Jaguars took a leap on the wide receiver on a three-year deal that ended in atrocity. Davis isn’t the best available wide receiver in the market, but he is affordable, so teams could keep an eye on him if the Steelers let him go without a deal.

If that happens, expect at least two teams to take a shot at him to salvage their receiving corps.

Main Photo: Morgan Tencza-Imagn Images

Saints, Chargers Could Intervene in Steelers Free Agent Gabe Davis Visit

Bolstering New Orleans

If any NFL offensive roster needs an immediate boost, it’s the New Orleans Saints. They had one of the worst offseasons this year, and it looks like it will get worse before anything gets better. Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler are two inadequate starters, but if they keep adding more pass-caching talent, it could help them no matter who wins the starting job. Brandin Cooks is a solid signing, but he’s way past his prime to be a WR2 anymore.

Even though Gabe Davis doesn’t provide much of a difference, the Saints would benefit from his presence, especially with the minimal cap space they have. Following Derek Carr’s retirement, they have some type of room to work with financially, so they could trigger a one-year deal to help Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed in the backend of this offensive pass unit. Davis might be able to rejuvenate his career like Marquez Valdes-Scantling did last year, so anything is possible if given the right opportunity, and new head coach Kellen Moore could probably do just that.

More Firepower for Herbert

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers need a true dynamic playmaker if they want to be a playoff team again. Quentin Johnston couldn’t play up to standards these past two seasons, and veteran Mike Williams has no gas left to top 1,000 yards anymore. 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey and new wideout Tre Harris are the future of this offense, but they could use another veteran presence in the aerial attack.

Davis can work both the deep threat and slot. With that, the Chargers could sign him temporarily and team with McConkey to give them two speedy receivers ready to make plays down the stretch.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in one free agent for a visit to salvage their wide receiver unit, but two teams could intervene.

[36,18,28,9
32298,7642,8995,9496,32330,7429,1670,7752,7366,7659
post-235493","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-chargers","category-saints","category-steelers","tag-brian-thomas-jr","tag-chargers-featured","tag-chris-olave","tag-gabe-davis","tag-ladd-mcconkey","tag-los-angeles-chargers-news","tag-mike-williams","tag-new-orleans-saints-news","tag-pittsburgh-steelers-news","tag-saints-featured
["GET
