Despite the fall of Kirk Cousins, the Falcons still picked up some electric offensive players. With a young and talented quarterback in Michael Penix now at the helm, new players have an opportunity to shine in 2025. In Fantasy Football, Atlanta is only known to have one highly touted player: Bijan Robinson. However, there could be some other players who can unexpectedly have a breakout fantasy football season.

Offensive Weapons for Falcons have Fantasy Breakout Potential in 2025

Ray-Ray McCloud III: Slot Receiver Turnaround

Ray-Ray McCloud III is one of those players who can be like a Swiss Army knife. Not only did he catch the ball last season, but he was the primary kick returner and carried the ball on the ground ten times. The Atlanta Falcons use him very similarly to how they used Cordarrelle Patterson before he left for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite quarterback issues in 2024, McCloud finished the season with over 600 receiving yards. However, he only pulled in one receiving touchdown.

Don’t expect McCloud to have another season with only one touchdown. With a full year now under his belt in Atlanta’s offensive scheme, look for him to make a bigger impact in 2025. McCloud’s ability to receive, carry, and return the football makes him a perfect candidate for anyone looking for a FLEX position player. He can potentially score in three different ways by the end of the season. A lot of people have forgotten about McCloud, and he will likely fall past the 10th round in all fantasy drafts, but anybody can find a potential starting FLEX position in McCloud. Not only that, he has the ability and potential to be one of the best FLEX players in fantasy football.

Jase McClellan: New Tyler Allgeier?

Jase McClellan was a power back at Alabama who got overshadowed by an insane running back room. When he played, he showed great athleticism and power with his frame. From his play style alone, he resembles Nick Chubb in the way he bounces off defenders and can turn on the jets after breaking a tackle. Taken in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL Draft, he has sat behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. With rumors circulating that Allgeier could be on the trade block, that would push McClellan up to RB2 on the depth chart.

Just because Allgeier could be leaving does not mean Atlanta will shy away from using two running back formations. They would use McClellan the same way they used Allgeier in 2024. If Allgeier does in fact get traded, McClellan could be a sneaky good late round pick in a fantasy draft to play your RB3 or backup flex whenever the bye week hits.

Drake London: Even Better than Projections?

This pick comes as less of a shock as the previous two. After his performance last season, nobody doubts that Drake London will do good in 2025. However, he is still likely to be picked in the 5th-to-7th round range in fantasy leagues this season. London could surprise fans this season and be a potential WR1 on many teams across fantasy leagues.

Keep in mind Atlanta will have a new quarterback at the helm with Michael Penix. Penix is known to have one or two favorite targets when starting at QB. In Washington’s playoff run to a national championship appearance in 2023, Washington had two receivers with over 1,000 yards receiving. The next highest receiving total was Jalen McMillan with just over 500.

Not much seemed to change in the games Penix started for Atlanta last year. In the last three games of the season, London had 39 total targets. Drake London had 18 targets the last game of the season versus the Carolina Panthers. The next highest? Ray-Ray McCloud and Darnell Mooney tied with 12 total targets. London has solidified himself as Penix’s favorite target. Fantasy players should keep an eye on London in their draft boards, and not be afraid to pick him earlier than projected. If he keeps seeing that same amount of targets, he will be a top-3 receiver in fantasy.

Main Photo Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Atlanta has several playmakers on offense, thanks to the loaded offseason of 2024.
