Let’s examine new Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai<\/a>. The seventh-round pick from Rutgers University is one that everyone needs to keep an eye on. He will be a great one if things fall into place for him.<\/p>\n

Being a seventh-round pick, he\u2019s a long shot to make the roster, but anything is possible.<\/p>\n

The Bears are likely to feature a dual running back set this season. With D\u2019Andre Swift a lock to make the team (mostly for financial reasons), the Bears will want to have another running back who can pound the rock between the tackles. Swift will be the outside back while someone else takes things inside.<\/p>\n

This New Chicago Bears Player Will Be a Pro Bowler<\/h2>\n

Who will that be? As of this writing, the running backs that the Bears currently have on the roster include Roschon Johnson, Travis Homer, in addition to Monangai and Swift. There are rumors that the Bears are looking for another running back and that Nick Chubb<\/a>, the former Cleveland Brown back, might be of interest to them. If the Bears do go out and get someone else, it\u2019s possible Monangai could be relegated to backup duty or worse, the practice squad.<\/p>\n

Monangai needs to be good in a hurry if he\u2019s to make the active roster. He has the tools to do that. All he needs is the opportunity to shine. If he can make the active roster, he could eventually work his way into a starting role. He could even end up being a top-end starter. Monangai has proven himself against college competition, and now it\u2019s time to prove himself in the pros.<\/p>\n

Can Mononagai Make the Active Roster?<\/h3>\n

Saying that Monangai is going to make the active roster in his first season with the Bears will leave some people scratching their heads in disbelief. But all he needs is a chance, and he\u2019s going to be a good, if not great, one. He could be a steal if he just gets a chance.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also not out of reach for him to shine when he does make the active roster. If he cracks and then holds his place in the lineup, Monangai could be a Pro Bowl player sometime in the future. The type of offense that he is coming into, with one that features the running game to move the ball down the field effectively, is likely to produce a Pro Bowl running back. Monangai could be and likely would be that guy.<\/p>\n

Besides the factors of sticking with the team and getting onto the field, Monangai would have to rely upon the offensive line, which is still a little bit of a question mark. The line isn\u2019t as big of a question mark this year as they were last year. That is a good sign. The Bears will run the ball often, so someone in that backfield is going to have many opportunities.<\/p>\n

It might as well be Monangai.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be surprised if Monangai is the Bears’ top rusher. He has all the traits, isn\u2019t fumble-prone, and is a tough guy. He\u2019s going to make the Bears very happy and be a star when it\u2019s all said and done.<\/p>\n
