There were a lot of trade rumors surrounding trades with Pickens after the Steelers went out and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/03\/10\/dk-metcalf-trade-may-spell-end-for-steelers-wide-receiver-george-pickens-5-possible-next-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">traded for DK Metcalf<\/a>, and a deal finally got done with the Cowboys. Pickens joins CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott in the Cowboys offense. How does this affect George Pickens\u2019 dynasty outlook?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Dynasty Outlook for George Pickens<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Current Production<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pickens spent the first three years of his NFL career with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/steelers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Steelers<\/a>. His best season was in 2023 when he caught<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PickGe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">63 passes for 1140 receiving yards and five touchdowns<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He struggled with injuries in 2024, only playing in 14 games. He caught 59 receptions for 900 yards and just three touchdowns. The Steelers passing offense struggled last season with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/03\/10\/justin-fields-dynasty-outlook-after-jets-signing\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Justin Fields<\/a> and Russell Wilson at quarterback. He is behind Jameson Williams, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/01\/27\/terry-mclaurin-commanders-wide-receiver-dynasty-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Terry McLaurin<\/a>, Luther Burden, and ahead of Brandon Aiyuk, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/04\/12\/tyreek-hill-trade-rumors-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Tyreek Hill<\/a>, and Ricky Pearsall. Pickens was the WR16 in December of last season, and his value has slowly dropped during the offseason due to trade rumors and the Steelers quarterback questions. He only has one year left on his contract before he is a free agent after the 2025 season. He goes from playing with the Steelers, who have a quarterback competition between Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2025\/04\/19\/aaron-rodgers-narrative-warfare-escalates-amid-steelers-draft-limbo\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Aaron Rodgers<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cowboys<\/a> have Dak Prescott, who is a massive upgrade over all three of these guys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pickens goes from being the WR1 on the Steelers to the WR2 on the Cowboys behind Lamb. Lamb deserves a massive target share, but behind him, there is not much competition for targets. Pickens will easily earn the WR2 spot on the Cowboys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pickens and Lamb should also complement each other well. According to this heat map, Lamb catches a lot of passes in the middle of the field, while Pickens is a deep threat down the sideline. Only having one guaranteed year with the Cowboys makes his dynasty projection a little tricky. However, Pickens is in a good position to succeed with the Cowboys in 2025. The quarterback and offense as a whole are better, and defenses have to focus more on Lamb, meaning Pickens should have fewer defenders covering him. Pickens is worth a buy in dynasty leagues.
