DeMarvion Overshown<\/a> was one of the few bright spots on a Dallas Cowboys defense that was otherwise putrid. Coming off a lost rookie year in 2023, Overshown delivered everything that Cowboys fans hoped for until a devastating knee injury in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> cut his breakout season short. He underwent surgery in December 2024 to repair tears to his ACL, MCL, and PCL. Despite the severity, recent updates suggest Overshown could return as early as midseason 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been through this before, but this time it feels way easier. The mental side is really what I\u2019m focusing on because I know physically I\u2019m going to be okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that Overshown is progressing on schedule, with a projected return sometime around midseason<\/a>. But don\u2019t rule out the possibility of seeing him sooner:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s training camp,\u201d he said when asked when he envisions being back on the field. \u201cI\u2019m not throwing away starting off week one. I\u2019m never throwing it out. I\u2019m working for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He acknowledges the need to be smart\u2014especially this early in his career\u2014but he is attacking rehab with the same intensity he plays with. The Cowboys may take a cautious approach, possibly starting him on the PUP list. Agent 0’s Comeback Could Lift Cowboys Linebacker Room<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Simply returning isn\u2019t good enough\u2014Overshown aims to excel. He has openly stated his ambition of being named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year<\/a> in 2025. This goal speaks volumes about where his head’s at. He\u2019s not content with just making it back on the field\u2014he\u2019s coming back to be the same difference-maker he was before.<\/p>\n

For a Cowboys defense searching for identity and leadership, Overshown\u2019s return can\u2019t come soon enough. His relentless motor and playmaking ability are sorely needed. He’s also a true tone-setter for a team that doesn\u2019t really have one without him.
