There are still rumblings about which veterans will be on the roster heading into 2025. With that, here are the Dolphins draft grades.

Miami Dolphins 2025 NFL Draft Grades

Round 1, Pick 13: Kenneth Grant, IDL, Michigan

Kenneth Grant is a ball of clay just ready to be molded. He’s a fantastic athlete, and if he hits his ceiling, he can be one of the best interior disruptors in the NFL. If he doesn’t, he helps a run defense that needs it dearly.

Grade: A

Kenneth Grant Scouting Report

Round 2, Pick 37: Jonah Savaiinaea, OT, Arizona

Fans want to see big, splashy moves. But sometimes the right thing is just to eat your vegetables, walk 30 minutes a day, and have no screen time before bed. The Dolphins did just that with their first two picks. If he can help keep Tua upright a little more often, it’s a huge win.

Grade: A

Jonah Savaiinaea Scouting Report

Round 5, Pick 143: Jordan Phillips, DT, Maryland

Phillips is a muscle-hamster of a defensive tackle. At this point in the draft, a gap-shooting DL who can help in specific packages is a great pick. The Dolphins really needed a corner, but it’s unlikely they find a difference-maker on day three at a position like that.

Grade: B

Jordan Phillips Scouting Report

Round 5, Pick 150: Jason Marshall Jr., CB, Florida

Once a five-star recruit, Marshall has all of the physical tools to succeed at the next level. He just hasn’t put it together yet. Marshall had plenty of experience at Florida, so if he hasn’t put it together yet, he’s definitely going to be a project for the team. As far as Dolphins draft grades go, a toolsy project at a position of need on day three isn’t a bad thing.

Grade: A-

Round 5, Pick 155: Dante Trader Jr., S, Maryland

Ian Harper, known for his propensity for nailing late-round gems, thinks Trader is more of a rotational piece than a true starting-caliber talent. He’s not the most rapid accelerator, but his quick feet and change of direction can cover some of that up.

Grade: B-

Dante Trader Jr. Scouting Report

Round 6, Pick 179: Ollie Gordon, RB, Oklahoma State

Once an award winner as an underclassman, Gordon had a rough 2024. At his best, he’s a bruiser who has breakaway speed. At his worst, he’s a sluggish, finesse back without the necessary wiggle to make defenders miss. In his All-22 film study, he was a “situational runner. When the offense around him is good, he’s electric”. If there’s an ecosystem to allow him to shine, it’s Miami’s.

Grade: B

Ollie Gordon Scouting Report

Round 7, Picks 231 and 253: Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas, and Zeek Biggers, DT, Georgia Tech

The Dolphins added depth to their quarterback room and interior defensive line. Ewers will push Zach Wilson for the number two job, while Biggers will hope to earn a goal-line defense role. Good security options late in the draft.

Grade: B

Main Photo Credit: Syndication: Detroit Free Press

Class is over.
