The Los Angeles Rams had a crazy turn of events, from reportedly wanting to trade up<\/a> to draft Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan<\/a> to trading out of the first round with the Atlanta Falcons.<\/a>\u00a0 Let’s dive into how the Rams fared with their 2025 draft class grades.<\/p>\n

Round 2 (46 Overall) Via ATL: TE Terrance Ferguson, Oregon<\/h3>\n

Terrance Ferguson was rising up draft boards after his amazing NFL Combine, where he finished first in the 40-yard dash (4.63), vertical jump (39’00”), and 10-yard split (1.55).<\/a> He’s one of the top receiving tight ends in this year’s draft class and at 6’5″ and 247lbs, he has the physical traits to become a premier tight end in the NFL. In fact, 25.6% of his catches in 2024 resulted in 20 yards or more, and 72.1% resulted in a first down or touchdown.<\/a><\/p>\n

With a limited route tree and inconsistencies as a blocking TE, Ferguson was projected as a fourth-round prospect, and with other options like Elijah Arroyo and Harold Fannin Jr. still on the board, this is a ‘trust in Les Snead and Sean McVay’ pick.<\/p>\n

Round 3 (90 Overall): EDGE Josaiah Stewart, Michigan<\/h3>\n

Rams bolster the pass rush, adding 6’1″ and 249lb pass rusher Josaiah Stewart. He finished with a 91.2 PFF grade in 2024<\/a> (2nd among EDGEs) and is only 22 years old. Stewart makes up for his lack of size by playing with aggression and finishing plays. He has the decisiveness you love to see in a defensive player, and he’ll have some great mentors in Jared Verse and Byron Young.<\/p>\n

Round 4 (117 Overall): RB Jarquez Hunter, Auburn<\/h3>\n

Kyren Williams took what the Rams’ offensive line gave him last season, but they need someone who can stretch the field, and that’s what they are getting in Jarquez Hunter. He has great burst and decisiveness to drive down the field. Out of 25 RB prospects last season, Hunter had a 32% avoided tackle rate, 4.10 yards after contact per rush, and 22.6% of his runs went for 10+ yards.<\/a> He’s going to make a huge impact on offense joining Williams and Blake Corum in the backfield.<\/p>\n

Round 6 (148th Overall): DT Ty Hamilton, Ohio State<\/h3>\n

An extremely impressive athlete scoring a 9.22 out of 10.00 Relative Athletic Score,<\/a> Ty Hamilton has good play strength which he uses to push offensive linemen in the backfield. An elite bull rush with strong run defending abilities, he has the tools to be a long-term piece on defense.<\/p>\n

Round 5 (172 Overall): LB Chris Paul Jr., Ole Miss<\/h3>\n

First off, love the trade. The Rams traded picks 201 and 202 to the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> for pick 172. With that, they got a stud in Chris Paul Jr. He’s a highly competitive and fast linebacker with great play speed and strong hands. A smart player who only missed 4% of his tackle attempts last season,<\/a> Paul Jr. fills a huge need at linebacker.<\/p>\n

Round 7 (242 Overall): WR Konata Mumpfield<\/h3>\n

To wrap up the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams select Pittsburgh wide receiver Konata Mumpfield. At 5’11” and 186 pounds, you would like to see more speed and playmaking abilities. He does offer a nice route tree with some craftiness, but the Rams must see something others don’t with Mumpfield.<\/p>\n
