He originally committed to North Carolina before decommitting and switching to Georgia. Wilson was a backup offensive lineman for his first three seasons with the Bulldogs. He played his first game against Charleston Southern as a freshman and played in seven games his sophomore season, and 13 his junior season. He earned the starting center position his senior season in 2024, starting 12 games for Georgia, and helping the team reach the College Football Playoff. Wilson earned Second Team All-SEC honors for his performance in 2024.

Strengths:

Wilson is an elite athlete who dominated at the NFL Combine. His 4.84 40-yard dash time was by far the fastest of any offensive line prospect this year and the fastest by an offensive lineman since Brian O’Neill in 2018. He was elite in speed, explosion, and agility tests, and recorded a 9.84 relative athletic score. Wilson is extremely light on his feet and has exceptional lateral quickness and movement skills. He quickly climbs to the second level and is consistently effective at the second level.

He has strong hands and has a powerful punch. Despite just one year of starting experience Wilson has refined hand technique and does a good job keeping his hands tight. Wilson also has a great mentality as a blocker. He is an aggressive blocker with good finishing mentality, consistently sustaining his blocks through the entire play.

Weaknesses:

Wilson is a slightly undersized offensive lineman and has poor length with a 32-inch arm length. Wilson also still needs to improve his play strength and is not able to move powerful defensive linemen consistently. He can struggle against big and powerful rushers or defenders with good length.

Wilson lacks a ton of experience and started just one season in college. While Wilson is fairly advanced from a technique and awareness standpoint for a one-year starter there are still some inconsistencies. His pad level can be too high at times, and he needs to continue to develop his processing and anticipation.

Potential Team Fits:

Atlanta Falcons

Cincinnati Bengals

Los Angelas Rams

NFL Projection:

Wilson is one of the most athletically gifted offensive linemen in this year’s draft class and shows a lot of promise with technique, processing, and anticipation as a one-year starter. With his athletic upside, if Wilson can continue to make good strides in his development, he has the potential to be a very good starting center in the NFL. Wilson is strong in both pass protection and as a run blocker, and with his movement skills and quickness, he would best fit in a zone-heavy scheme.

Prospect Grade:

Early Third Round

Main Image: Petre Thomas-Imagn Images

Jared Wilson scouting report.
