It’s been something that’s been a little bit frustrating.\u201d<\/em> Blackburn\u2019s response?<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he should be happy at certain rates that maybe he doesn’t think he’d be happy at,\u201d<\/em> Blackburn said. “I think some of it is on him to be happy at some point, and if he’s not, you know, that’s what holds it up sometimes. So, you know, it takes him to say yes to something.”<\/em> Cue the record scratch. Besides, the Bengals<\/a>\u2019 history with defensive stars adds fuel.<\/p>\n

Cincinnati\u2019s front office, however, operates like a cautious blackjack player\u2014slow, methodical, rarely splurging unless forced.<\/p>\n

Teams balk at Cincinnati\u2019s first-round demand, leaving Hendrickson in purgatory. \u201cSome of it is on him to be happy at some point,\u201d<\/em> Blackburn said, but Hendrickson fired back: \u201cThey’re more than welcome to call me. I’ve had the same cell phone number since high school… So if they have anything they’d like to discuss, we have been nothing but willing to listen.\u201d<\/em> It\u2019s a stalemate sharper than a Lambeau Field winter.<\/p>\n
