If you’re a casual Indianapolis Colts fan, you probably have no clue who he is. The young quarterback has never played a single regular-season NFL game. Therefore, it makes sense if you don’t know much about him. Moe Moton with Bleacher Report recently referred to Bean as a non-factor:

“Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen should be on a full-tilt panic alert with their quarterback room. The Colts may have to choose a starter between the better of two subpar quarterbacks (Anthony and Daniel Jones), which doesn’t bode well for the offense. (Jason) Bean, an undrafted second-year player out of Kansas, is a non-factor.”

Like last year, Jason Bean may not see the field for the Colts in 2025. But you never know, he might get his chance the shine at some point.

An Analyst Refers to Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Jason Bean as a “Non-Factor”

Notable Undrafted Quarterbacks in NFL History

Just because you weren’t drafted, doesn’t mean you can’t make a significant impact. Just look at Warren Moon. The former Washington Husky went undrafted in 1978. After spending six seasons in the Canadian Football League, Moon joined the NFL, playing for the Houston Oilers (now Tennessee Titans). He went on to become a nine-time Pro Bowler and make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Kurt Warner never heard his name called in the NFL draft, either. After stocking shelves at a grocery store, he eventually became a Hall of Famer. Known mostly for his time with the St. Louis Rams, Warner won two regular-season MVPs, a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP. That’s not bad at all. Other notable undrafted quarterbacks include four-time Pro Bowler Tony Romo, Jeff Garcia (also a four-time Pro Bowler), and Jake Delhomme, who led the Carolina Panthers to a Super Bowl appearance.

Can Jason Bean Be a Factor?

Heading into this offseason, everyone knew the Colts were going to add a quarterback to compete with Anthony Richardson. And that came to fruition with the signing of Daniel Jones.

Richardson and Jones, two former top-10 picks, will battle for the starting quarterback job. Whoever doesn’t win the job will serve as the primary backup, replacing Joe Flacco. Sam Ehlinger, last year‘s No. 3 quarterback, recently signed with the Denver Broncos. Now Jason Bean will be the team’s No. 3 quarterback or possibly compete with a rookie if the Colts draft a quarterback this year.

Although Indianapolis has Richardson and Jones on the roster, Jason Bean can still be a factor. There’s a possibility that both Jones and Richardson could be injured at the same time (knock on wood). And if that’s the case, Bean will finally see the field and perhaps make an impact. Stranger things have happened. Nobody predicted Brock Purdy, the last player taken in the 2022 draft, would ever achieve much success, right? But he got his chance to play when injuries piled up. Jason Bean is a dual quarterback, who can make exciting plays, whether he’s passing the ball or scrambling. No, don’t look for him to emerge as the next Warren Moon or Kurt Warner. But if he gets an opportunity in 2025, don’t be surprised if he takes off.

Main Image: Michelle Pemberton/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK

Jason Bean, the undrafted Indianapolis Colts quarterback, could shine during the 2025 season if given the opportunity.

[54,12
9564,4688,7800,32626
post-226063","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-colts","tag-anthony-richardson","tag-daniel-jones","tag-indianapolis-colts-news","tag-jason-bean
["GET
