There has not been much excitement around New England Patriots<\/a> running back Rhamondre Stevenson in quite a long time. He is not young, a top player, or on a successful team. Two years ago, Stevenson was a sexy name in the dynasty community. He was coming off a 2022 season where he averaged 14.7 points per game<\/a>, which was good for an RB1 finish. Unfortunately, the Patriots spent the next two seasons compiling 4-13 records back-to-back. The Patriots’ lack of success<\/a> as a football team significantly lowered the fantasy ceiling of their runners. Trailing by two scores in the second half regularly is not conducive to strong running-back fantasy seasons. Stevenson has averaged roughly 12 fantasy points per game over these last 2 seasons. Although these seasons aren’t bad, decline can be scary for a running back who just turned 27 years old.<\/p>\n

Rhamondre Stevenson Dynasty Value<\/h3>\n

Stevenson’s value is tumbling, now ranked as the RB29<\/a>. His recent performance and age are important factors to consider when assessing his dynasty value. However, they are not the only factors, as there are many reasons to be optimistic.<\/p>\n

Firstly, the Patriots are improving. Last year, they drafted Drake Maye, who proved he has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. This offseason, they signed Stefon Diggs to a three-year deal to serve as the top weapon in the passing game. Additionally, they hold the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Regardless of who they select, the team will be more competitive, creating more touches later in games for Stevenson.<\/p>\n

Secondly, Stevenson signed a four-year, $36 million extension a year ago. It feels as if most dynasty managers have forgotten this huge detail. This would keep him in New England through the 2028 season, with a potential out after the 2026 season. This contract security makes him feel like a much safer investment than similarly valued dynasty running backs.<\/p>\n
