He made his first start against Kentucky during his freshman season and started four games that year. He became a full-time starter in 2023 and contributed to an 11-win team and one of the best offensive lines in the country. In 2024, Membou once again started every game in the regular season and earned Second Team All-SEC honors.

Strengths:

Membou is a spectacular athlete and was one of the top performers at the NFL Combine. He posted a 9.89 relative athletic score and ran a 4.91 40-yard dash with a 34-inch vertical leap at 332 pounds. He has quick feet and exceptional movement skills, with the ability to effectively mirror the quickest and most athletic pass rushers. In pass protection, he explodes out of his stance, has excellent technique, and strikes with good timing.

Membou has good knee bend and flexibility, along with solid body control and balance. He demonstrates great lateral movement and is effective as a puller. Membou plays with great awareness and does a good job at identifying second level defenders. He is a young prospect who recently made a significant jump in development in 2024, and still has plenty of room to continue growing as a player.

Weaknesses:

Membou is a shorter offensive tackle with slightly below average 33.5 inch arm length. He needs to improve his anchor and his overall play strength, as he can struggle against stronger defenders at times, and lacks consistent strike power. Membou also doesn’t always finish his blocks and needs to do a better job at consistently holding his blocks longer.

At his size and arm length, Membou could be moved to guard in the NFL, but he has no experience at the position and played strictly right tackle throughout his entire college career. He often overextends on blocks and can struggle against lengthier pass rushers. Membou Needs to become more consistent with his hand placement, as his hands are too wide sometimes and expose his chest to defenders.

Watch – Related: Ollie Gordon All-22 Film Study

Potential Team Fits:

New England Patriots

New York Jets

San Francisco 49ers

New Orleans Saints

NFL Projection:

Membou has incredible athletic upside and the experience and skills needed to be an immediate impact starter in the NFL. He will likely try to play tackle first in the NFL and should play tackle first. He has the athleticism and movement skills to make up for his lack of length at tackle, and if he can refine his technique he should be able to be a good starting tackle at the next level. However, it is possible he will need to move inside to guard in the NFL. With his lack of experience at guard and need to improve his play strength there could be a bit of a learning curve if he makes the move inside, but he absolutely has the talent to play there if needed. Membou projects as a good starting offensive lineman with pro bowl potential at both tackle and guard in the NFL.

Prospect Grade:

First Round

Main Photo Credit: Eric Canha-Imagn Images

Armand Membou Scouting Report.
