The second day of the <\/span>2025 NFL Combine<\/span><\/a> saw the safeties showcase their skills, and here are a few standouts from the afternoon session.<\/span><\/p>\n

NFL Draft Safety Prospects Who Played Their Way Into Becoming Standouts At The 2025 NFL Combine In Indianapolis.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina<\/b><\/h3>\n

Alongside Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart, Emmanwori might end up as the combine\u2019s biggest overall winner. His overall numbers are simply unheard of and he cruised to an obvious 10.00 <\/span>Relative Athletic Score<\/span><\/a>. In one of the greatest testing performances of all time, the SC product flew to a blistering 4.38 second 40-yard dash at 6\u20193\u201d 220 pounds. He clocked a 43\u201d vertical jump and 11\u20196\u201d broad jump, essentially launching himself among the greatest combine performances of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jonas Sanker, Virginia<\/b><\/h3>\n

Sanker is a prototypical physical box safety, but he showed some high-level speed tools in his testing. He clocked in under 4.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash with a great 2.60 second 20-yard split. His 36.5\u201d vertical jump was solid, and his 10\u201908\u201d broad jump was among the best out of the safeties group. Drills were a strong point for Sanker too, looking smooth and controlled in his movements and giving safety-needing teams a lot to think about. He was a much more complete-looking player than he has in the past and was certainly a “stock up” prospect.<\/span><\/p>\n

Billy Bowman Jr., Oklahoma<\/b><\/h3>\n

Bowman Jr.\u2019s testing numbers didn\u2019t blow anyone away, but they were good enough to be worth a mention, and he was outstanding in drills. Running a 4.43 second 40-yard dash was big for him to overcome his size deficiencies,s and his 2.57 second 20-yard split was similarly skillful. The drills were his main selling point coming into the day and he matched expectations. His change of direction skills and quick burst were a sight to behold and he was a clear combine safety standout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malachi Starks, Georgia<\/b><\/h3>\n

Starks, like Bowman Jr., was much more of an \u201ceye test passer\u201d than a testing darling. Some have speculated he could be the next Brian Branch-esque fall, but it\u2019s hard to believe that many NFL teams would pass him up. He worked through drills at a higher level than every other safety at the combine and looked technically sound in every aspect. He was never expected to top any charts metrics-wise, and every top-tier skill he showed at Georgia was very visible in his performance on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Potential Team Fit: <\/span>Philadelphia Eagles<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Marques Sigle, Kansas State<\/b><\/h3>\n

Sigle\u2019s 4.37 second 40-yard dash had draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah questioning his entire evaluation of him, and that sums up his performance at the combine. The projected Day 3 pick put on a display of impressive quickness and acceleration, rounding out his prospect profile that already included high marks regarding his instincts and versatility. His 38\u201d vertical jump placed fourth among safeties, and his 10\u201910\u201d broad jump placed second, propelling him to a standout combine safety showcase.<\/span><\/p>\n
