They have the Indianapolis Colts selecting Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft:

“80) Indianapolis Colts, Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Bowling Green”

“Harold Fannin Jr. took over with 117 catches, 1,555 yards, and 10 touchdowns in 2024. He’s an able seam and red zone threat with unique all-around utility.”

In the first two rounds of this mock draft, the Colts take Georgia safety Malaki Starks (No. 14 overall) and Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison (No. 45 overall). Those are both great selections, seeing that Indy’s secondary needs a major upgrade.

Taking Harold Fannin Jr. also makes sense for the Colts. The tight end position is easily one of the team’s biggest weaknesses. Could the Canton, Ohio native help solve the problem in 2025?

NFL Mock Draft Has the Indianapolis Colts Taking Tight End Harold Fannin Jr.

His Career at Bowling Green

Harold Fannin Jr. played three seasons at Bowling Green. As a freshman, he caught 19 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. He recorded 44 receptions, 623 yards, and six touchdowns the following year.

Fannin had a monster year this past season. He led the nation in receptions (117) and receiving yards (1,555,) to go along with 10 touchdowns. He’s the first tight end in college football history to lead the nation in both categories. Fannin also rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. His eight 100-yard receiving games tied for most in the country. In addition, he was a Consensus All-American and the MAC Most Valuable Player.

Bowling Green lost 38-81 to Arkansas State in the 68 Ventures Bowl. Yet, Fannin had 17 catches and 213 yards (both FBS postseason records) in the losing effort.

Fannin ultimately passed on his final season of college football and entered the NFL draft. He’s projected to be one of the first tight ends drafted this year.

Should the Colts Draft Harold Fannin Jr.?

This past season, the Colts tight end room consisted of Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, and Will Mallory. Plus, there was Jelani Woods, who has missed the past two seasons due to injury.

In 2024, Granson led the group with 14 catches and 182 yards. Alie-Cox and Ogletree were the only players at the position to record a receiving touchdown. Both players had only one. Needless to say, the Colts’ tight end room is arguably the worst in the NFL.

Harold Fannin Jr. could be the answer. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder possesses vertical athleticism, good hand-eye coordination, and is a playmaker after the catch. He’s also a terrific route runner and a high-level blocker in the run game.

Fannin could team with Colts receivers Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce to surround quarterback Anthony Richardson with a quality pass-catching corps. Richardson, who has struggled as a passer so far in his career, needs all the help he can get to develop into a franchise quarterback.

Fannin would be an upgrade over Granson and Co. in Indianapolis. If the Colts get the opportunity to draft him, they should do it in a heartbeat.

Main Image: Vasha Hunt – USA Today Sports

A seven-round mock draft has the Indianapolis Colts taking tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

[12,1647
9564,33128,7800
post-215792","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colts","category-nfl-draft","tag-anthony-richardson","tag-harold-fannin-jr","tag-indianapolis-colts-news
["GET
