The quarterback position is the most important in football and also in dynasty leagues<\/a> — especially superflex. It’s the one position that can truly make or break your team on a weekly basis, so it’s essential to have players you can trust. Below are three dynasty quarterback values.<\/p>\n

Last Word on Sports’ own Mike Kashuba put together his list of dynasty quarterback rankings which will be the basis of where the value comes from with these three quarterbacks.<\/p>\n

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars<\/h3>\n

Trevor Lawrence is listed in the “Sunshine” tier of the rankings which sits below the top QB2 candidates. He missed time in 2024 due to a concussion<\/a> and shoulder injury. However, anyone who has watched Lawrence play football before knows he’s very talented.<\/p>\n

“Every fiber of my being says Trevor Lawrence is good at football,” wrote Kashuba. “But he\u2019s wasting away in Jacksonville. With the influx of talent from 2024 and how well some veterans are performing, he\u2019s in a weird tier where he\u2019s not quite a mystery box, but he\u2019s not scoring enough points to justify a higher ranking.”<\/p>\n

Wasting away? He’s only 25 years old and finally had an elite wide receiver to throw to for the first time. Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a> showed he is a rising star in the league, and Lawrence will only put up better numbers with him. If you’re looking for value at the quarterback position, look no further than Lawrence.<\/p>\n

Sam Darnold, Free Agent<\/h3>\n

Sam Darnold<\/a> is listed in the “Landing Spot Dependent Veterans and Retirement Risks” category of the rankings. If Darnold ends up on a team like the Cleveland Browns, then his value obviously declines. However, the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> are still talking and trying to bring him back for 2025. Even with J.J. McCarthy on the roster, Darnold could return to Minnesota.<\/p>\n

“Darnold looked like he was due for a big payday, but Kevin O\u2019Connell has a way of making quarterbacks everyone gave up on look exceptional,” wrote Kashuba.<\/p>\n

While there is some legitimacy to O’Connell’s ability to bring out the best in his quarterbacks, Darnold never really had much of a chance on any of his other teams. He was a backup in San Francisco and Carolina, and the Jets were a dumpster fire when he was there. Darnold is someone you can get aggressive for and get great value now.<\/p>\n

Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons<\/h2>\n

Michael Penix Jr. is listed in the “Mystery Boxes and Scary Injuries” tier. While he had a lot of injuries in college, he looked great in his first three games with the Atlanta Falcons<\/a>. Three games definitely isn’t a large sample size, but his play was very promising. He has a top receiver in Drake London and an emerging talent in Kyle Pitts to use at his discretion while also being able to make plays with his legs.<\/p>\n

“Pick one in this tier to roll the dice on and enjoy the ride,” wrote Kashuba about the group. Penix wasn’t specifically listed in the analysis, but he is the one player who could be the biggest riser in 2025. He threw for over 200 yards<\/a> in each of his three starts, including 312 in the season finale against the Panthers.<\/p>\n

Based on the tape from the 2025 Draft class, he could easily be better than the top tier quarterbacks. The Falcons were ridiculed for taking him eighth overall a year ago, but that could prove to be a great decision very soon. If you don’t have him already, acquire Penix as a great quarterback value in dynasty leagues.<\/p>\n
