The two-time Pro Bowler is one of the NFL’s top running backs. It’s highly unlikely that Indy will look to trade him this offseason. Yet, Stevie Pusch of chicitysports came up with a trade that sends Taylor to the Chicago Bears:

“The Chicago Bears and new head coach Ben Johnson are still in the process of putting their new coaching staff together, while also making decisions about the team’s roster. One position on offense that appears to be a hot topic for fans and the media is the running back position, as many fans and analysts believe that the team will need to upgrade from starter D’Andre Swift, whether via the draft or free agency. One scenario that could come as a surprise and be unexpected would be acquiring a proven running back, such as Jonathan Taylor, via trade to address the offseason concern that everyone has heading into the thick of the offseason.”

Yes, a Jonathan Taylor trade could benefit the Bears. He would be an upgrade over fellow running back D’Andre Swift. He could also team with receivers D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze to give quarterback Caleb Williams a solid supporting cast. But again, it’s unlikely that the Colts would trade their star running back.

Analyst Has the Colts Trading Jonathan Taylor to the Bears

Taylor’s Career in Indianapolis

The Colts drafted Jonathan Taylor in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He would turn out to be one of the best draft picks in franchise history. Taylor had an immediate impact in Indy, rushing for 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie.

Taylor was dominant during the 2021 season. He led the league in rushing yards (1,811) and rushing touchdowns (18). As a result, he earned First-Team All-Pro honors and was runner-up for Offensive Player of the Year.

Due to injury, Jonathan Taylor failed to reach 900 yards in each of the following two seasons. However, he bounced back this past year, rushing for 1,431 yards and 11 touchdowns. Taylor also was named to the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career. He was one of the few bright spots for the Colts, who finished with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs once again.

Should the Colts Make This Trade?

What could the Colts receive from Chicago in a Jonathan Taylor trade? Pusch mentioned that they’d get multiple draft picks:

“A potential Taylor trade would likely net the Colts multiple draft selections, including a second-round pick paired with another mid-round pick.”

With that second-round pick, the Colts could draft a running back to replace Taylor. Someone like Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins, Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson, or North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton makes sense. Then Indianapolis could address their defense with the mid-round pick.

While it’s always ideal to add draft picks, the Colts shouldn’t trade Jonathan Taylor to the Bears or any team. The former Wisconsin Badger is one of the league’s best running backs and would be difficult to replace. Sorry Bears fans, don’t expect to see JT head to the Windy City anytime soon.

Main Image: Grace Hollars – USA Today Sports

An analyst came up with a trade that has the Indianapolis Colts sending Jonathan Taylor to the Chicago Bears.

[12,36
7403,7800,6237
post-215202","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colts","category-nfl-news","tag-chicago-bears-news","tag-indianapolis-colts-news","tag-jonathan-taylor
["GET
