They brought him in as head coach, shocking their fandom with their aggressiveness. Johnson sure appears to be the perfect fit for the Bears and promises to bring culture, discipline, and winning to Chicago.

Rounding Out Ben Johnson’s Coaching Staff

Most certainly, Johnson cannot do it all himself. He is going to have to surround himself with a coaching staff that can match his energy and intensity. They must also share his vision for success. You can’t just expect him to bring along a bunch of his former coaching buddies and make things work. He needs to bring great minds, inspiring people, and coaches that won’t cause rifts amongst the staff and players.

Some of the names mentioned as potential assistant coaching candidates, as well as those who have already signed on with the team, may not be household names. They should be guys who have some solid experience in the league and are all leaders of men.

Some Familiar Names Come Up

One of the names sticks out. Antwaan Randle El, the famous college quarterback from Indiana ended up as a wide receiver in the NFL. His coaching career has brought him to the Bears now (this is confirmed). He’s ready to continue the success he had in Detroit, with Johnson. It’s thought that Randle El is an up-and-coming potential head coaching candidate, and he could cut his teeth more with the Bears helping to make them great while increasing his value.

Another quality coaching staff member who is confirmed to be heading to the Bears is former Green Bay Packers defensive back Al Harris. Bears fans will remember Harris as a ball hawk who had long hair and a great nose for the ball. Well, now he’s in Chicago and will help make a secondary that was already good, even better, as their secondary coach.
This is all very encouraging. The Bears future is bright.

Grabbing someone to help him keep the offense in check and at least alleviate some of the responsibilities of making the offense run will be key. There were rumors that Johnson was going to get additional help from the Lions with Hank Fraley. That isn’t going to pan out. Randle El might need to be the guy who emerges as the co-leader with Johnson, but the search continues.

Cracks in Ben Johnson’s Armor?

One troublesome thing that some of us may recall from when the Johnson hire was first announced was that there was supposed to be an all-star staff of assistant coaches. They floated names like former New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen as their offensive coordinator. The talk was that former New Orleans Saints special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi was going to join the Bears.

This did not pan out although we can’t entirely rule out Allen to the Bears yet.

The Build Goes On for Ben Johnson

Johnson is building a staff that will help bring this team up and make them better in 2025. They have a few pieces that need to be put into place with the roster, particularly on the offensive and defensive lines. This must happen before we can crown them potential division winners. However, with a solid offseason, they could easily bring themselves up in those two areas.

These are exciting times Bears fans! It finally feels like there is a real leader on this team. He will guide them to better days ahead. The Bears are headed in the right direction and will finally be competitive and a consistent winner.

Main Image: Junfu Han – USA Today Sports

During the past week, there has been a flurry of activity surrounding the Chicago Bears and new head coach Ben Johnson.

[23
5744,33207,9585,7403,32922,1309,33201
post-212859","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bears","tag-al-harris","tag-antwaan-randle-el","tag-ben-johnson","tag-chicago-bears-news","tag-darren-rizzi","tag-dennis-allen","tag-hank-fraley
["GET
