He possessed the size to be a thumper in the run game and the speed to terrorize opposing quarterbacks and pass catchers in the secondary. Emmanwori excelled as the MIKE backer in high school, but college scouts projected him as a safety.

His stellar play at Irmo garnered a three-star rating on the recruiting trail, good enough to lay claim as the sixth-best prospect in South Carolina, but notably was overlooked by many top programs. As such, Emmanwori chose to stay close to home by committing to the Gamecocks. He burst onto the scene as a true freshman, logging a team-high 842 snaps.

Emmanwori assumed a leadership role for the South Carolina defense as an 18-year-old and continued blossoming in 2023 and 2024. He remained as versatile as ever, lining up in the box, as a deep safety, and in the slot.

In total, Emmanwori racked up 215 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and six interceptions in 37 career starts. Now, he hopes to bring the same impact to the next level, where several franchises should be vying for his talents at the 2025 NFL Draft.

Accolades:

•First-Team All-American (2024)

•First-Team All-SEC (2024)

•Joe Morrison Defensive MVP (2024)

•Honor Roll Member Every Season

•Team Captain

Strengths/Pros:

Emmanwori is one of the best pure athletes in the entire 2025 NFL Draft. He stands at a legit 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds while possessing a legitimate 4.3 40-yard-dash speed. That makes him an early favorite to be this year’s NFL Scouting Combine darling.

On tape, Emmanwori flexes a motor that never quits. He has a nose for the football, evident by his impressive tackling numbers and his 16 interceptions/pass breakups downfield.

Thanks to Emmanwori’s experience as a three-year starter, he has developed some of the best instincts of any safety prospect in the past half-decade. He has the type of football IQ that cannot be taught, making him the quarterback of any defense he’s on.

The cherry on top of his remarkable production and experience is the fact that Emmanwori is one of the youngest players entering the 2025 NFL Draft. He will be 21 years old for the entirety of his rookie season.

Weaknesses/Cons:

While Emmanwori has a nose for the football, it can sometimes lead to him playing hero ball and trying to make tackles that simply are not possible. More than once, he overpursued a ball carrier, and even with his superb speed, he couldn’t overcome the poor tackling angles.

Likewise, Emmanwori tends to lunge for tackles on occasion. He got away with it at the collegiate level more times than not, but in the NFL, it will take consistent form to avoid leading the league in missed tackles.

There are instances of Emmanwori being stiff at the hips and lacking the ability to move laterally as well as he does north-to-south. He has range as a deep man but could maximize his physical traits better by loosening up his hips and being able to flip the field more efficiently.

Potential Team Fits:

•Seattle Seahawks

•Indianapolis Colts

•Minnesota Vikings

•Buffalo Bills

NFL Projection:

Nick Emmanwori will have some growing pains transitioning to the NFL, but he should be an immediate starter. Teams will live with his rawness early to mold him into the star he is destined to be.

He is at his best closer to the line of scrimmage and could lead the rookie class in total tackles in 2025 in a sub-linebacker role, but that shouldn’t be the extent of his impact.

Emmanwori is a true chess piece and should be allowed to utilize his long speed and ball skills to make plays in the backend of the defense as well. He will be a defensive coordinator’s best friend.

Prospect Grade:

•Middle 1st Round

Film Exposures:

•Georgia (2022)

•Kentucky (2023)

•Oklahoma (2024)

•LSU (2024)

•Texas A&M (2024)

Main Photo: BRYAN TERRY/THE OKLAHOMAN-USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

Nick Emmanwori is one of the most exciting 2025 NFL Draft prospects, and this early scouting report explains why he has superstar potential.

[1647
32874
post-211705","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-draft","tag-nick-emmanwori
["GET
