He flashed his abilities early on, working his way onto the field for 13 games in his freshman season. In said games, he caught 38 passes for 265 yards without reaching the end zone. He became a starter the following year and became much more effective, posting almost 600 yards on 60 grabs with three scores.

Noel once again increased his playing time and improved his stats in 2023, starting 11 of the Cyclones’ 12 games. He set career highs to that point, snagging 66 passes for 820 yards and scoring seven touchdowns. By every metric, his 2024 campaign was the best of his collegiate career, and was a top target alongside Jayden Higgins. He picked up 80 receptions for over 1,100 total yards and scored eight times.

Accolades:

Honorable Mention All-Big 12 KR/PR (2023)

Second Team All-Big 12 WR (2023)

Honorable Mention All-Big 12 WR (2024)

First Team All-Big 12 KR/PR (2024)

Strengths/Pros:

Noel has a level of fluidity and footwork as both a route runner and ball carrier that few collegiate receivers have. He accelerates off the line quickly, drives through his route cuts, and transitions to a ball carrier smoothly after the catch. His awareness of the sideline is impressive, keeping himself in bounds and maintaining balance and momentum. He makes himself available early and often in the flat, flipping his hips well in any direction and getting vertical fast.

He winds up and effortlessly releases his momentum through cuts, using a slingshot-like motion to gain leverage and win matchups. His hands are smart when working away from his body, adapting to the ball’s trajectory and securing grabs. Noel’s shoulder mobility flashes when evading defenders through routes. He contorts himself easily and keeps his movement fluid through multiple compact movements. Despite his smaller stature, he still attempts to sustain blocks and fights through contact.

Weaknesses/Cons:

Because of his size, Noel is likely limited to a slot role in the NFL and has struggled with physicality. He gets brought down far too easily as a ball carrier and gets too reliant on his agility to work downfield. His blocking skills are subpar, and his effort is insufficient to overcome frame disadvantages in most situations. He gets moved off his routes frequently when faced with consistent contact and has some issues separating in those instances.

Noel lacks burner speed and thus has some inconsistency in his downfield effectiveness. He is often unable to simply run past defenders in man coverage. Because of this, he also needs to improve his mid-route alterations when diagnosing coverage. He often runs into covered space and will turn his hips too early, telegraphing some of his routes. He has to find the ball better on intermediate routes and will get into some funks with rough drops.

Potential Team Fits:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New Orleans Saints

Washington Commanders

NFL Projection:

Jaylin Noel gets open and makes it difficult on defenses, full stop. His physical deficiencies and areas for improvement likely limit him from becoming a top option in the NFL, but he should have no problems finding a sizeable role on a team. He moves better than most defenders and functions well before, through, and after the catch. His projected value would be highest in a pass-heavy system with at least one “alpha” WR. He has NFL-level abilities, and will produce the most if utilized in an offense that allows him to showcase said skills at a high rate.

Prospect Grade:

Early To Mid 3rd Round

Film Exposures:

2024 vs. Iowa

2024 vs. West Virginia

2024 vs. Arizona State

Main Image: Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images

Overview And Film Analysis Of 2025 NFL Draft Prospect And Iowa State WR Jaylin Noel, A Shifty And Nuanced Slot Receiver.

[1647
32605,33035,33034,32950,27083
post-208633","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-draft","tag-2025-nfl-draft","tag-iowa-state-cyclones","tag-iowa-state-football","tag-jaylin-noel","tag-scouting-report
["GET
