During the first half against the Indianapolis Colts, Nabers and Tracy both exceeded 1,000 scrimmage yards for the season. They became just the third pair of teammates in NFL history to accumulate 1,000 all-purpose yards as rookies.

Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy just became the third teammates in NFL history to top 1,000 yards from scrimmage as rookies.

— Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) December 29, 2024

It is not often that a rookie passes the thousand-yard mark, but the Giants had two rookies achieve this goal in yesterday’s game against the Colts, which resulted in a 45-33 victory. Reggie Bush and Marques Colston represented the last duo to accomplish this, doing so with the New Orleans Saints during their 2006 season.

Giants’ Malik Nabers, Tyrone Tracy Jr. Make NFL History

A Star Emerging Despite Another Losing Season, Giving the Giants Offense Something to Build Around

Whether or not you were rooting for the Giants to win, Nabers put on a show in the last home game of the season. Avoiding a winless record at home, Nabers found himself in the end zone twice, on top of seven receptions for 171 yards. In arguably his best game, he had a career-high game in receiving yards as well as tying his career-high two touchdowns in a game.

Since trading away Odell Beckham Jr, there has been a void in the team, with no star number-one receiver. After six seasons, that void has been filed. Through 14 games, Nabers has 104 receptions, 1,140 yards and six touchdowns. In a season where negative storylines have surrounded the Giants, this gives hope for the future—breaking the streak of not having a 1000-yard season for a receiver since Beckham. Nabers was electric, breaking tackles and creating big plays.

Considering the quarterback rotation the Giants have had since releasing Daniel Jones, being a receiver who has accumulated over 1,000 yards in this offense is commendable. From Lock to Tommy Devito and Tim Boyle, the Giants receivers have had no consistency the last several weeks.

LSU Wide Receivers Dominating the NFL

Fifteen receivers this season are over 1,000 yards receiving with one game remaining, four of which are former LSU Tigers. Leading the league is Bengals receiver JaMarr Chase, with 1,612 yards. Behind him is Viking’s Justin Jefferson with 1,387 yards, in 4th in yards is Jaguars rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr with 1,179 yards, and Nabers is 7th in the league with 1,140 yards.

Another notable statistic surrounding LSU receivers is rookie wide receivers with 1,100 receiving yards and 10+ receiving touchdowns. The only receivers to do so go as far back as 26 years ago when Randy Moss had 1,313 yards and 17 touchdowns. Then in 2014, Beckham had 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2021, JaMarr Chase had 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. This season, Thomas Jr. had 1,179 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Speaking of rookie duos, Nabers and Thomas Jr. are just the third rookie pair from the same college to have 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Recently anytime you see a receiver record it has been involving prior LSU football players.

Main Image: Julian Leshay Guadal – USA Today Sports

Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracey Jr. are third pair of teammates in NFL history to accumulate 1,000 all-purpose yards as rookies.

[20,54
32135,7300,32525
post-207005","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-giants","category-editorials","tag-malik-nabers","tag-new-york-giants-news","tag-tyrone-tracy-jr
["GET
