The NFL is becoming a more and more pass-happy league. Six of the ten highest volume passing years<\/a> have come in the past ten years. As teams try to load up on firepower, let’s take a look at the top wide receiver prospects in the 2025 draft, and which teams they fit best with.<\/p>\n

Top Five Wide Receiver Prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft<\/h2>\n

1. Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona<\/h3>\n

May I interest you in a young Mike Evans? A couple of prospects have been touted as big-bodied receivers with strong hands, but Tet is the best of the bunch. He’s the entire Arizona offense, and he’s not just a tower on the outside. He’s had over five yards after the catch per reception<\/a> each season. Those aren’t crazy numbers, but definitely promising considering opposing defenses give him all of their attention. That’s also despite being listed at 6’5″, 212 pounds. There is still plenty of room on his frame to fill out, and if he gets any stronger teams may need to put an edge rusher on him to try to press him.<\/p>\n

2. Travis Hunter, Colorado<\/h3>\n

There’s certainly a discussion over whether Hunter could fight for the number one spot in the entire draft, not just among receivers. Hunter’s ball-tracking skills are some of the best in the class, and his explosion in the final section of the catch point sets him apart on both sides of the ball. If he commits to wide receiver full-time, Hunter is easily one of the best prospects in 2025. Unfortunately for fantasy football and dynasty managers, Hunter’s role isn’t set in stone. It’s easier for a player to play part-time on offense than on defense, so using him as CB1 but WR3 is how some draft analysts are projecting him.<\/p>\n

3. Luther Burden III, Missouri<\/h3>\n

Burden is an interesting case. His 2023 campaign is up there with some of the best, but QB play and a lack of open space in 2024 have set him back. A shoulder injury has nagged Burden<\/a> throughout the season, so maybe that’s part of the dip in his numbers. Every year there’s a receiver compared to Deebo Samuel<\/a>, but Burden is the closest the NFL has seen.<\/p>\n

Best team fits: Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos<\/p>\n

4. Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State<\/h3>\n

If Luther Burden III is a bulldozer, Egbuka is a Corvette. He’s sleek, smooth, and able to separate with ease. He doesn’t offer as much after the catch, but before the ball is in his hands defenders have a hard time corraling him. He’s best served as a team’s 1b where he can punish a defense for not giving him enough attention. Egbuka has played alongside some of the best wide receiver prospects in the country at Ohio State, and maybe he’ll get a shot to be more than he was in college in 2025.<\/p>\n

Best team fits: Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/p>\n

5. Tre Harris, Ole Miss<\/h3>\n

Harris has good athleticism, but not great. He’s a fine separator, not electric. But he’s mean after the catch, does a lot of the little things well, and has the prototypical size for the position. His road to the NFL has been a weird one, with his first few seasons at Louisiana Tech. Once someone with his frame gets to work with NFL footwork coaching, he could take another leap in production.<\/p>\n
