The New York Jets acquired wide receiver Davante Adams<\/a> earlier in the week in a move that will almost certainly lead to a Mike Williams trade. Signed to a one-year, $10 million deal as he worked his way back from a season-ending ACL injury, the former Charger couldn’t establish himself as a trusted piece in Aaron Rodgers’ offense. Through six games, the former first-round pick recorded just 10 receptions for 145 yards. During Week 6’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, Rodgers blamed him<\/a> for running the wrong route on the game-ending interception.<\/p>\n

With Adams, Garrett Wilson, and Allen Lazard firmly entrenched atop the depth chart, the Jets will shop Mike Williams and see if any team is interested in a trade. While he won’t fetch the same return as guys like Adams and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper<\/a>, Dianna Russini reports that the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers have reached out to the Jets about Williams.<\/p>\n
