Week 7 Eagles vs Giants Picks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Eagles vs Giants matchup, the Eagles will look to start a win streak in their opening divisional game. Last week, the Eagles scraped by against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/browns\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cleveland Browns<\/a>, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/giants\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">New York Giants<\/a> took a tough loss against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/bengals\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams have not had a good start to the season, but there\u2019s at least a little more optimism on the Eagles side. Against the Browns, the offense took a step in the right direction against a good Browns team. If they want to compete in the playoffs, they must take another one this week.<\/p>\n<h2>A Step Forwards or Backwards? Week 7 Eagles vs Giants Picks<\/h2>\n<h3>\u00a0The Eagles Offense Needs to Be Smart<\/h3>\n<p>The Eagles needed a win against the Browns, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/15\/nick-sirianni-remains-under-pressure-despite-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">pressure is still mounting<\/a> on Nick Sirianni. Jalen Hurts was able to play a clean game with zero turnovers however it was not great. There are a few big moments in games where Hurts will still make silly mistakes and miss opportunities. This week against the Giants, he will need to be cautious again but take advantage of the deep shots to the receivers.<\/p>\n<p>The Giants defensive front is real and was the only reason they stayed in the game against the Bengals. The Giants secondary and linebackers are solid but unspectacular. They will let up some big plays through the air to opposing offenses, but the Eagles must call the deep shots at the right time this week.<\/p>\n<h3>No Need for Fireworks<\/h3>\n<p>It will be another ugly, low-scoring game that the Eagles will need to win with attrition rather than lighting up the scoreboard. \u00a0Early in last week\u2019s game, the Eagles fell into the trap of being too aggressive in the passing game. It\u2019s a good decision to use Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown on go routes when they\u2019re one-on-one. However, it becomes too predictable and forces the offense into a rut when it is all they do.<\/p>\n<p>Against the Browns, the Eagles won a battle of attrition against a poor offense. It will be the same script this week as Daniel Jones and the Giants offense have not been putting many points on the board. If the Giants get Malik Nabers back, it will be a boost for them, but the Eagles defense should be able to hold the team the opposing offense under 20 points again.<\/p>\n<h3>Week 7 Eagles vs Giants Picks<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Eagles Win 23-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Eagles will win this game against the Giants by protecting the ball and playing field position. It will be a good test for Hurts to see if he\u2019s on track to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/09\/27\/is-the-jalen-hurts-turnover-problem-fixable\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">fix his turnover problem<\/a>. The Giants defensive front will get pressure with Mailata out, but the Eagles can mitigate the pressure by getting the ball out of Hurts\u2019 hands on some quick crossers and slants.
