With a handful of teams on bye, starting running backs including Kyren Williams, Kareem Hunt, De&#8217;von Achane, and Aaron Jones are all inactive this week.\u00a0 Let\u2019s take a look at Week 6 running-back rankings and analysis.<\/p>\n<p>[tgdcta items=&#8221;1&#8243; id=&#8221;170466&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Fantasy Football Week 6 Running Back Rankings<\/h2>\n<h3>Tier 1 &#8211; Stud RB1s<\/h3>\n<p>1. Derrick Henry<\/p>\n<p>2. Saquon Barkley<\/p>\n<p>3. Jahmyr Gibbs<\/p>\n<p>4. Jordan Mason<\/p>\n<p>5. Alvin Kamara<\/p>\n<p>6. Bijan Robinson<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/07\/10\/derrick-henry-fantasy-football-2024-outlook-baltimore-ravens-running-back\/\" target=\"_self\">Derrick Henry<\/a> once again sits atop the running-back rankings after rushing for 95 yards and another touchdown in Week 5 against the Bengals.\u00a0 The King has been truly unstoppable this year in the Ravens high-powered offense and now faces a mediocre <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/washington-commanders\/\" target=\"_self\">Commanders<\/a> defense in Week 6.\u00a0 Both <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/08\/10\/2024-fantasy-football-profile-saquon-barkley\/\" target=\"_self\">Saquon Barkley<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/02\/week-5-fantasy-football-running-back-rankings\/\" target=\"_self\">Jahmyr Gibbs<\/a> return from their byes this week and are smash starts.\u00a0 Both players have looked electric so far this season and should continue to outperform their weekly projections.\u00a0 Expect potential bounce-back performances from Jordan Mason and Alvin Kamara after they both put up single-digit fantasy points in Week 5.\u00a0 Finally, despite underwhelming so far this season, <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4430807\/bijan-robinson\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bijan Robinson<\/a> is set up for success against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\">Panthers<\/a> this week.\u00a0 The Panthers run defense is ranked second last and they are allowing 27 points per game to fantasy football running-backs this season.<\/p>\n<h3>Tier 2 &#8211; RB1s with Upside<\/h3>\n<p>7. Josh Jacobs<\/p>\n<p>8. James Connor<\/p>\n<p>9. Breece Hall<\/p>\n<p>10. James Cook<\/p>\n<p>11. David Montgomery<\/p>\n<p>12. Joe Mixon*<\/p>\n<p><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4047365\/josh-jacobs\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Jacobs<\/a> could arguably be placed in Tier 1 due to his matchup against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cardinals\/\" target=\"_self\">Cardinals<\/a> this week, who allow 123 rushing yards per game.\u00a0 Jacobs is a much better running-back when Jordan Love is under center and should have a productive week.\u00a0 After massively disappointing fantasy managers over the past 2 weeks, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/07\/buy-sell-week-6-fantasy-football\/\" target=\"_self\">Breece Hall<\/a> could finally right the ship against the Bills on MNF.\u00a0 The Bills defense is dead last against the running-back position through 5 weeks, and Hall could see some new offensive plays schemed up after <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/2024\/oct\/08\/stumbling-new-york-jets-reportedly-fire-head-coach-robert-saleh\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">head coach Robert Saleh&#8217;s dismissal<\/a>.\u00a0 Joe Mixon is locked in as a top-12 running back if he is healthy, particularly with an advantageous matchup against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/patriots\/\" target=\"_self\">Patriots<\/a> in Week 6.<\/p>\n<h3>Tier 3 &#8211; Solid RB2s<\/h3>\n<p>13. Kenneth Walker III<\/p>\n<p>14. Tony Pollard<\/p>\n<p>15. Chuba Hubbard<\/p>\n<p>16. D&#8217;Andre Swift<\/p>\n<p>17. Chase Brown<\/p>\n<p>18. Najee Harris<\/p>\n<p>Fresh off the bye, Tony Pollard could run riot against a <a  href=\"https:\/\/coltswire.usatoday.com\/2024\/10\/09\/missed-tackles-present-a-major-problem-for-colts-defense\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">struggling Colts defense<\/a> in Week 6.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/02\/week-5-fantasy-football-running-back-rankings\/\" target=\"_self\">Chuba Hubbard<\/a> has exceeded all expectations so far this season and currently ranks as the RB8 in half-PPR.\u00a0 While the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/falcons\/\" target=\"_self\">Falcons<\/a> are a tough test, Hubbard averaged 7.46 yards per carry in Week 6 and should see enough volume to make him an RB2 this week.\u00a0 Meanwhile, Chase Brown may see the opportunity to be the <a  href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/why-chase-brown-could-monster-000224934.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lead rusher for the Bengals<\/a> due to Zack Moss&#8217; ankle injury.\u00a0 Brown has been <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/07\/week-5-fantasy-football-risers-and-fallers\/\" target=\"_self\">rising up the rankings<\/a> in recent weeks and is seeing more opportunities as a change-of-pace back.<\/p>\n<h3>Tier 4 &#8211; RB3s or FLEX value<\/h3>\n<p>19. Brian Robinson Jr.<\/p>\n<p>20. Rhamondre Stevenson<\/p>\n<p>21. Travis Etienne Jr.<\/p>\n<p>22. Tank Bigsby<\/p>\n<p>23. Rico Dowdle<\/p>\n<p>24. Bucky Irving<\/p>\n<p>It will be very interesting to see how the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\/\" target=\"_self\">Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> backfield plays out this week after supposed backup Tank Bigsby ran for 101 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 5.\u00a0 While Etienne is still considered the lead RB, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/08\/tank-bigsby-vs-travis-etienne-who-is-the-better-fantasy-option-in-the-jacksonville-backfield\/\" target=\"_self\">Bigsby has earned more carries<\/a> and both players can be viewed as no more than RB3\/flex options this week.\u00a0 After a breakout performance in Week 5, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/10\/07\/week-5-fantasy-football-risers-and-fallers\/\" target=\"_self\">Rico Dowdle<\/a> enters the top-24 rankings but now faces a difficult <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/lions\/\" target=\"_self\">Detroit Lions<\/a> run defense.\u00a0 The Lions have only allowed an average of 58 rushing yards per game to running backs this year, so fantasy managers should temper expectations for Dowdle this week.<\/p>\n<p>Universal Responsible Gambling Disclaimer: Ages 21+.
