Facing his old team on Sunday, wide receiver Stefon Diggs was a star on Sunday, helping to lead his new squad, the Houston Texans to a 23-21 win over the Buffalo Bills<\/a> on Sunday. The victory for Houston (now 4-1, 1st in the AFC South) was highlighted by the chemistry between Diggs and his new quarterback, CJ Stroud<\/a>. The wideout caught six passes for 82 yards, making the Bills regret<\/a> letting him fly south. He’s logged 315 yards and two touchdowns on the season and is just finding his rhythm in the Texans’ offense. Diggs is an established playmaker, and alongside emerging young receiver Nico Collins, the dynamic duo may be the perfect formula for Stroud to lead the team to the first Super Bowl<\/a> in franchise history.<\/p>\n

What Diggs Means For Houston The Reminder of the Season<\/h2>\n

Thus far, Texans Head Coach Demeco Ryans has liked what he’s seen thus far from the four-time Pro Bowler. He noted after the Buffalo contest, that Diggs<\/a> gives the team another elite pass-catcher and many more options of offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat makes Diggs\u00a0a good fit is, first, he\u2019s a smart player,” Ryans told reporters<\/a> after the victory. “He can play multiple positions so we\u2019re able to move him around a lot to try to get him in favorable matchups. And he has some of the best hands that I\u2019ve seen. He does a good job catching the ball but, just his ability to play multiple spots for us really opens the playbook up.\u201d “We were really happy for Diggs,” the coach continued. “We know how important this win was for him…know how important this week has been for him… Today, for us, he made some really big catches on third down to keep drives moving.”<\/p>\n

Stroud concurred with Ryans. Now in his second season under center, the 2023 Rookie of the Year recently stated<\/a> that Diggs is a welcome weapon on offense, adding that he got a “bad rap” in Buffalo. With a new lease on life, Diggs had a bittersweet Bills goodbye when he sealed the deal on Sunday. And with Collins getting injured on the game and his status uncertain, the former Maryland Terrapin should see more targets this week.<\/p>\n

Coming Up for the Diggs and the Texans<\/h3>\n

With one of the most explosive teams in the entire sport<\/a>, the Texans will need all the firepower they can muster over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

They take on an improving Patriots team in New England on Sunday. While the Pats (1-4) have lost four straight games, Foxboro Stadium has historically been tough on road teams. So, Ryans and his squad will be looking to dodge an upset. Then, in Week 7, Houston battles Green Bay (3-2) and their young QB – Jordan Love – who crushed the Titans, 30-14, this week.<\/p>\n
