This week marks the beginning of bye weeks, with the Lions (Goff), Chargers (Herbert), Eagles (Hurts), and Titans (Levis) all on a bye. Below are the quarterback rankings, tiers, and analysis to help you navigate your lineup decisions for Week 5.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[tgdcta items=&#8221;1&#8243; id=&#8221;170460&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings Week 5<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Tier 1: Superstar Quarterbacks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Josh Allen<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Lamar Jackson<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Jayden Daniels<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Jordan Love<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. C.J. Stroud<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daniels had another great performance in Week 4, finishing with 24.02 fantasy points. He has scored at least 24 fantasy points in three out of four weeks to start his career. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/washington-commanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Commanders<\/a> have finally found their franchise quarterback. Daniels continues to impress both through the air and on the ground, completing over 80% of his passes while logging at least eight rushing attempts in every game. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/packers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Packers<\/a> struggled early, falling behind 28-0, forcing Love to throw 54 times in a comeback attempt that fell just short. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/game\/_\/gameId\/401671643\/vikings-packers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">He finished with 389 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions<\/a>. He has a favorable matchup next week against a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/rams\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Rams<\/a> team that is top ten in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tier 2: Low-End QB1s<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6. Brock Purdy<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7. Kyler Murray<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8. Joe Burrow<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">9. Anthony Richardson*<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10. Baker Mayfield<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Purdy had a solid outing in Week 4, though the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">49ers<\/a> took an early lead over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/patriots\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Patriots<\/a>, limiting his passing opportunities. In Week 5, he faces a favorable matchup against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cardinals\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cardinals<\/a>, who recently allowed 42 points to the Commanders and have given up at least 30 points in three of their four games this season. Purdy is in a great position to pick apart this vulnerable defense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/09\/29\/what-anthony-richardsons-injury-could-mean-for-his-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Richardson exited the Week 4 game early due to a hip injury<\/a>, but the issue doesn\u2019t appear to be serious, and he might not miss any time. If he&#8217;s able to play in Week 5, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/colts\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Colts<\/a> face a favorable matchup against the winless <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Jaguars<\/a>, who rank in the top three for most fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. If healthy, Richardson has a great opportunity to bounce back this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tier 3: QB1 Upside<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11. Sam Darnold<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">12. Patrick Mahomes<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">13. Dak Prescott<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">14. Geno Smith<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15. Trevor Lawrence<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16. Derek Carr<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mahomes has struggled to find his form this season, scoring between 12 and 17 fantasy points in each of the first four weeks and finishing outside the top ten among quarterbacks. The loss of his top wide receiver, Rashee Rice, who probably tore his ACL, adds to his challenges. In Week 5, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/chiefs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Chiefs<\/a> face the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/saints\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Saints<\/a>, a defense that ranks in the top five for fewest fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Given these factors, Mahomes is not the elite fantasy quarterback he once was and is ranked outside the top ten this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lawrence has struggled this season, and with the Jaguars sitting at 0-4, he needs to step up and prove his contract. Fortunately, he has a favorable matchup in Week 5 against the Colts, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. This presents the best opportunity for Lawrence to deliver a standout performance and turn around his season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tier 4: Streaming Options<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">17. Justin Fields<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">18. Matthew Stafford<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">19. Kirk Cousins<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20. Caleb Williams<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21. Deshaun Watson<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fields had an impressive Week 4, finishing as the overall QB1 with 31.98 fantasy points in the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/steelers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Steelers<\/a>&#8216; first loss of the season. More than half of his production came on rushes, as he had 55 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Fields has won the starting job over Russell Wilson for the foreseeable future. This is his job to lose. Although he faces a tougher matchup against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cowboys<\/a> on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, he remains a solid streaming option due to his dual-threat capability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Watson has struggled in the early part of the 2024 season, failing to exceed 17 fantasy points in each of the first four weeks. The Browns&#8217; offensive line has been terrible, making it hard for Watson to stand in the pocket and find his receivers downfield. The Browns play the Commanders next week, who had a great day against the Cardinals but have been awful in the previous three weeks.
