However, if they feel comfortable with their current running back depth, it shouldn’t be surprising if they put him on the trade block. Dillon played in 60 games and rushed for 2,428 yards and 16 touchdowns for the team over the past four seasons but has been struggling to embrace a starting role.

He finds himself in some competition in a locker room with Josh Jacobs and MarShawn Lloyd so he isn’t the starter but comes in as a No. 2 option. However, if Lloyd shows early signs to emerge as the better backup for Jacobs then the Packers could put Dillon on the trade block to find a suitor. Dillon would become the third running back but they have some talent Emanuel Wilson and Jarveon Howard in the mix. The Packers are only investing a little bit of money so he isn’t a burden to the team after extending him for a one-year contract.

However, the good news about that is the Packers wouldn’t have a hard time finding a suitor who needs a quick fix at the running game on their team. Dillon would still remain as the No. 3 option if the Packers feel comfortable with other options they have at the position but it would be wise to trade him now. The Chiefs still need a No. 3 running back behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The same case would be for the Ravens who plan to use Derrick Henry for most snaps. Here are some other potential destinations for AJ Dillion.

Ravens and Chiefs May Battle Over Potential Trade Candidate AJ Dillon

Other Potential Trade Fits

New Orleans Saints

The Saints don’t have a lot to look forward to this upcoming season so they might as well keep building for the future. Alvin Kamara isn’t going to be around forever after skipping workouts this offseason so he could demand a pricey contract. Dennis Allen should think about establishing a strong running game for Derek Carr since he doesn’t have a lot of wide receiver weapons. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed may look promising on paper but to get to playoff contention, it probably won’t happen this year.

The Saints should be able to trade for Dillon on a one million, one-year contract to see what he can do in rotation alongside Jamaal Williams as well.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are not making it too far into the playoffs or even a contention at that with the offense they’re constructing. They had no choice but to move on from two key wideouts, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen but they’re bringing in J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as the one-punch two combo for their running back depth. However, they have an excellent track record of injuries which shows they need to add one more veteran to reinforce this group.

Los Angeles is a couple of injuries away from the mishap and Dobbins and Edwards are on the brink of it.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are loaded at the running back position but the outlook of the depth looks questionable. Carolina is bringing in Rashaad Penny even though they have Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard. It seems like the team is going to be testing the talents in a rotation and Dillon should be in the mix to see what he can do from this new offense.

Here is how the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs may battle over potential trade candidate, AJ Dillon.

[36,10,30,25,16,18,28
7642,7811,7661,7638,7659
post-181235","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-ravens","category-panthers","category-packers","category-chiefs","category-chargers","category-saints","tag-chargers-featured","tag-chiefs-featured","tag-panthers-featured","tag-ravens-featured","tag-saints-featured
["GET
